Hace cinco años, un día antes de mi cumpleaños, falleció un tío muy querido, y ese año fue particularmente difícil para mí, pasé mi cumpleaños llorando. Sin embargo, desde entonces no había sentido una energía tan positiva como la de hoy.

Esta semana le expresé a mi familia mi deseo de celebrar de una manera diferente. Comprendo que enero es un mes complicado, pero me planifiqué para disfrutarlo al máximo.

This rock formation has a peculiar shape, although, honestly, to me it seems to bear little resemblance to an elephant. When we arrived, everyone said something different: that it looked like a shoe, that it looked like something else, but no one associated it with an elephant. I suppose that erosion over the years has modified its original shape.

This place is located half an hour from Ciudad Guayana, at kilometer 70 on the road to Ciudad Piar. My main objective was to go hiking and explore the place.

My husband told me that at Piedra del Elefante you can also practice rustication with vehicles specially prepared to climb it, since the incline is considerable. Climbing it in rustic vehicles is a more extreme and exciting activity. This birthday truly made a difference. The adventure we lived with my children and my husband was an unforgettable experience that showed us how important it is to create memories together. We will definitely try to repeat these getaways from time to time.
