I joined Hive Power Up Day (hpud) late but it has been worth it!
10 months ago, I was introduced to #hive by @monica-ene and this has been one of the best gifts I have received from anyone. My first three months were virtually unproductive as my onboarder struggled to encourage me despite seeing the tight schedule I had, especially as it relates to my profession. Some months later, I onboarded at least 5 Hivers, and only one has been active for some weeks now. This shows that coming to Hive is one task; staying committed to Hive is a more important task.
Gradually, some 6 months ago, I began to see and appreciate the good side of Hive, and my commitment has been on the high side. I have become addicted to Hive, and I have met wonderful people. I remember when resolutions were made against 2023, and sincerely, as much as I admired Hivers, I did not believe I could get to where I am now, and for that I am grateful.
Eventually, I joined #hpud three months ago, and I am glad I have been able to meet up with today’s Hive Power Up day.
Until recently, I enjoyed powering up at every chance, but due to the unfavorable turn of events in the economy of Nigeria, I started making some withdrawals to make ends meet. It hurt me to make those withdrawals, but I am glad my HP has been rising consistently, and a power down is a no-go area for me.
Hive has impacted me beyond improving my writing skills; I have met many wonderful people that I could call family. This is the moment I say, "I LOVE YOU ALL" for making my Hive journey progressive and interesting. Last month, during the June #hpud, my HP was less than 700, while today, during the August #hpud my HP has risen to 889. I am excitedly looking forward to the 1000 HP mark, which I hope to celebrate before I clock 1 year here on #hive in October.
Hive has taught me to save. My saving culture has been nothing to write home about, but very recently, I have decided to commit myself to a minimum target saving of 10 HBD per month. It may look little, but it’s a start for me, and hopefully soon I will improve on that also.
Hive also contributed to the purchase of my bicycle some two weeks ago, which I have started learning how to ride even though I'm an adult.
My growth on Hive has been a success largely due to the discipline and commitment I encouraged myself with, especially after engaging some wonderful authors. "If they can do it, I can do it also, and even better." I have pushed myself and reminded myself to keep striving. #hivebuzz has been my friendly reminder and has updated me on my progress. Recently, I got notified by #ecency as a leader among top users. I never knew I was on any ladder, but I am glad that I have been faithful in so many places.
Hive is a rare and commendable blockchain that can be recommended to those willing to make the sacrifice. My short time here has greatly improved me, and I always look forward to engaging and publishing.
Thank you for reading. I would love to have your comments and contributions.
