The new addition to our medal collection was worth it despite the struggle towards it. Tiffany and I are still getting our mind wrapped around how things have flipped on us physically in two years.

Most of it was out our control due to an accident, illness and injuries.

With that said, this past weekend's running event was one we were tepid about, but still looking forward to. It was going to give us a peek into how we are progressing post accident and a month into our return to Hight Intensity Interval Training sessions after three months off.

We had a solid routine that went unblemished for many years until March 2021. It was a solid run and we've had to adjust to many negative factors since then.

The most important thing about our health and fitness journey is not giving up. Where we started in our journeys until now even through the struggles it's leaps and bounds from where we were both younger. Even at our worst we can do thing at a fitness studio or at a running event that we wouldn't even fathom doing half our ages ago.

Running the 10K of the recent RON JON COCOA BEACH HALF MARATHON & 10K was a great way to find out if we are getting back to our old selves.

We aren't fully back, but there are a lot more glimpses that we are going in the right direction.

I took a close up picture of one of the medals we earned this weekend to upload for this post and I also uploaded the photo the organizers and sponsors of the race sent to us from the event.

Half of the 10K was ran on the beach and as you can tell, I was on struggle bus lol. I still ran the whole damn thing.

I've ran a full half marathon a few years ago and attempted two others, I've knocked out plenty of 5K's and 10K's; but this past Sunday was probably the most important one for us yet.

Can't wait for the next running event in December unless we decide to do one in November.

Running in sand is much harder than na solid surface. I think you did great after your time off.

That is some pretty challenging terrain on which to run, Jimmy! Congratulations again to you and Tiffany. Go Team Jiffy!
