Today, was ripe for an #Index4Index submission. It's my eleventh in the series and again, I don't have a specific target of how many I want to eventually submit, but it does help with breaking ice when it comes to content creation and on a constant time crunch.

My goal for this post was to find something that was based on the Fear of Missing Out.

FOMO has been detrimental on my path towards wanting to build a side hustle.

As an aspiring entrenpreneur, I failed mostly because of two or three common mistakes and the jumping from opportunity to the next opportunity without giving the first opportunity a solid chance.

End Result? Ultimately failing at multiple attempts due to the "shiny new object" sydrome.

I set myself back to the point that on my second real attempt at online marketing, I am mostly starting from the beginning.

This time around, I don't make the same mistakes, so everything takes time.

Being on HIVE was no different. I wanted to get into every token, every project and so on, but because of my past failures with that approach, I quickly realized that I had to make a concerted effort to focus on just a few. That mindset is so less stressful.

I found this quote from Alan Arkin:

"No matter what you do or where you are, you're going to be missing out on something."

There are no truer words.

I think Oliver Burkeman says something similar in his 4,000 weeks (the average lifespan) book. People maintain the illusion that they are going to be able to do everything and it creates a lot of stress and fomo for them because, of course, no one is. He talks about the joy of missing out.

It's almost like envying others for what they have and not appreciating what you have.

I didn't grow up with much, but my Mother always made use feel like we had a lot.

That quote is a downer. You could be missing out on something good. Thanks for sharing.

Focus on what you have that is good in front of you, than what you are missing out on wouldn't mean much? At least, that's how I've lived my life the last few years. It's like living a life of regrets. That is a true downer.

Happy Wednesday Bob!!

So, true Jimmy! And if we take too long to make a choice we will miss out on everything.
That's worse.
