My wife Tiffany, stepsons and I are back home in Central Florida after visiting New York City for a week. New York is where I was born, raised, partied and worked at for most of my life; so it was basically going back to my first home to visit.

It was an amazing vacation and for all it's worth New York has not changed for better of for worse, but it's an experience that if you can add to your list of places to visit it is a must.

Keeping in mind that New York is huge and you can never do it all in one trip, so when we planned it; Tiffany and I decided to make it a Manhattan trip and that is what we did. Outside of brief stops in Brooklyn and Staten Island we focused our whole vacation on New York City.

One of the places that was on our to do list and must be on everyone's who visits New York is CENTRAL PARK. We actually went to twice and spent hours both times. We also were blessed with amazing weather the two times we visited the park. In both intances we made sure to walk through different sections of the park and still couldn't do it all.

The pictures I uploaded revolved around the views of buildings from different parts of the park, which for most of the trip I took a lot of photography from different vantage points of the amazing structures the city has to offer.

I took the same approach from the park and how each picture was taken with a building or a house between the greenery.

The majestic city skyline domintated a lot of the photographs that we took. Hundreds of photos for to hold for the memorable visit to my beloved New York.

The sky is clear. It means you did not have to worry about the Canadian wildfire smog.

Day One was horrible with the wildfire smog, but thankfully after that the weather was amazing for the remainder of our stay.

Happy Thursday @rmsadkri

Hi, Jimmy, Tiffany, and boys! I'm glad you had a great time visiting Manhattan area of NY city. Your pictures are beautiful and glad there wasn't any fire smoke from Canada when you visited. I was worried it might hit you. I saw a movie about a red tailed hawk that lived in Central Park or right across the street from Central Park but hunted in the park. It was amazing and he lived 32 years. A man from France made a movie about him. He loved this hawk and so did a bunch of other people. The hawk just passed away this past May. Let me get you link to movie. The legend of Pale Male https://www.thelegendofpalemale.net/

You're right - I do love Pale Male - so far. As yet, I've only watched about half. But I'm going to make time to finish it later today. It has interest on so many levels. Obviously the hawks. But also, NYC, Central Park, New York citizens and visitors, and the narrator/filmmaker. Many interwoven stories, so thank you for bringing it to my attention. And thank you also for pointing out that the full version lies a short scroll down from the trailer.

I see you're more interested in those architected buildings when you're among the nature in the park. The tall buildings looks cool.

Although I’ve learned to appreciate nature more that I live in Central Florida now, I was born and raised in New York and spent most of my life; so the appreciation of my home’s architecture and skyline is close to my heart @bong1011 Happy Sunday Funday 🙏🏼

We will be in NYC for a few days later this year. What would be your recommendations for the top things to do? I was there some years ago, but it will be the first time for the family.

Hi @steevc - if it’s only for a few days and it’s with family: Bryant Park and Central Park, walking the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan is awesome, Chinatown, the Staten Island Ferry, Chelsea Piers, Greenwich Village, and an observation deck setting like Empire State Building should be appealing for the family.

Cool. I did the ferry, Empire State, Natural History Museum and a little of Central Park last time. We were looking at The Edge for views. We may get a tourist pass that covers multiple attractions. My girls want to see a show. I expect it could be warm there in August, but that is our last stop on a little road trip down from Canada.

I would love to go there, never been to the USA in all of my 51 years. Feel bad about that!

I would have felt worse if I lived here in the USA and not never go to New York. I'm proud to not only visit, but to have been born and raised there and lived and work there most of my life. Now I'm a Floridian lol 😎
