Week 330 | My Splinterlands Art Contest Entry | Camila Sungazer

Art Process

• Sketch and lineart

I wanted to draw Camila Sungazer in an anime style, somewhat like those of moes. I often think of them as teenagers or those with the "cat theory" face in anime style, haha. So I chose a simple pose and just a simple background for this art.

• base color and shadows

I color-picked the base colors from the original card. I thought the orange hair complements the purple dress. I then started with the shadows by using a cell brush and then blurring them.

• fixing the render and the light source

I then made the eyes more "alive" and glowy by incorporating shines. In the original art, the eyes were pure white but I just put green as her eyes. On the clipped layer, I applied the light source bounced on the character by using an airbrush.

Final Art

For the background, I just chose a simple purple one. I then intensified the lightsource by airbrusing yellow glow. I masked the character a tint of purple to wrap it up.
