Art Process

I found a nice YCH pose on Pinterest, perfect for this spider character. I added the four legs on the back just like the spiders have. I roughly sketched first the idea and then tracing it for the lineart.

On separate layers, I fill the spaces with the base colors. The purple skin was supposed to be a suit just like Spiderman, but I realized it would be different if I treated this character as a spider in a human form, hehe. I drew short hair so that I could show the eight legs at the back. On clipped layers, I added the details such as the eyes, bikini, and the legs' colors.

I worked on the shadows, especially on the palms. I used a layer in multiply mode so that I could easily adjust the intensity of the color. Next is the shines of the hair and body, assuming the light was coming from the right side of the character.

Final Art

I chose a simple color background for this one th show more of the character itself. I blur the tips of the fingers to show depths. I manually drew the spider web on the hands. Added some filters like circles.
