I Like Me Better When I Am With You~

Happy Sunday, y'all! How is your day so far? Today I went out just to do some shopping trip to fill the pantry. Nothing much to do, so I just opened my drawing software just to make the day productive.

So, usually, I listen to songs when I am doing computer work or just browsing blogs. I sometimes get inspiration from songs.

This art is inspired by the song Like Me Better by Lauv. It is a very wholesome song! I can listen to it the whole day. 💖

Sketch and Concept

The first thing I do is to look for a concept of pose for a couple. I do not like to draw anything complicated today, after all, it is Sunday! 🤣 So I found this inspo from Pinterest. I first draw the sketch in g-pen. I always use a thick pen so that I can easily trace it when doing the lineart. I chose happy expressions for both of the characters. For the background, just a blue sky with clouds.

Next is the basecolor. I chose colors that are on the unsaturated side. I am trying to make a Wattpad like vibes here. 🤣 Wattpad is an online pocketbooks. I am not sure if it is also available internationally, but yeah~ That is the intention there. I was thinking about changing the girl's hair to blonde, but I scratched it. I like it more on the gray side. I used an airbrush for the subtle shadowing. I put shadows where I think it is the darkest.

It is coming to life, right? Shadows and highlights make the art alive. 🥰 I use the newly downloaded pen which I just saw on Tiktok. It is called the 7V X lineart. It is thinner than the G-pen. Hmmm, as per my experience, I still go for the g-pen. I think it is good for hair strands. Just my preference. I put some pinkish to orange blush for both characters. For the clouds, I used two brushes, the K's cloud puff and the K's cloud mega cirrus.

Final Art ☁️

What I really focused on in the process of the final stage is the highlights and glows. I put some glow on the top of the clouds and on the girl's hair and a bit on the guy's. I also put glows on the forehead for bout of the characters. More hair strands to make the hair organic. A little adjustments here and there, and tadaaa~ Finished art!
