We decided to travel to the western part of the country, leaving from Maracay very early, we headed for Santa Ana de Coro, better known as Coro. On the trip we passed from the Aragua State, the Carabobo State, to then enter the Falcón State, passing through Chichiriviche and arriving at its capital.

Coro is the capital of Falcón state, we can say that since its creation in 1527, it is considered an important urban center of that colonial era. It was the first capital of the province of Venezuela, the third oldest city in Venezuela and the sixth oldest in South America.
Coro today is a city that preserves much of its history and cultural tradition. A beautiful colonial quarter, buildings from the colonial era and south of the Médanos de Coro.

During my visit I was in a colonial-style building called EL BALCON DE LOS ARCAYA, built in 1725, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is currently the headquarters of the José María Cruxent Museum, where there are archaeological and anthropological collections. Also visit the SAN FRANCISCO DE ASIS CHURCH, a place that after its construction was destroyed in 1620 by pirates. By 2006 it was completely remodeled and today houses the Lucas Guillermo Castillo Diocesan Museum.

On the tour I was also in the SAN NICOLAS DE BARI CHURCH, being one of the most emblematic churches of the city, for being the first cemetery built in a choir, LA CASA SOL located in the middle of the colonial quarter, named after an imposing sun that sets located at your front door.
I also had the opportunity to eat the famous peeled arepas, dulce de leche and the rich goat in coconut, traditional Falcon food. I tasted drinks made with Cocoy de Penca. And I highly recommend them as they make different fruit flavors.

Decidimos viajar hacia la zona del occidente del país, partiendo desde Maracay muy temprano, nos enrumbamos hacia Santa Ana de Coro, más conocida como Coro. En el viaje pasamos del Estado Aragua, el estado Carabobo, para luego entrar al Estado Falcón pasar por Chichiriviche y llegar a su capital.

Coro es la capital del estado Falcón podemos decir que desde su creación en 1527, considerándose como un importante centro urbano de esa época colonial. Fue la Primera capital de la provincia de Venezuela, la Tercera ciudad más antigua de Venezuela y Sexta más antigua de Suramérica.
Coro en la actualidad es una Ciudad que conserva mucho de su historia y su tradición cultural. Un bello Casco colonial, edificaciones de la época de la colonia y al sur de los Médanos de Coro.

En mi visita estuve en un edificio estilo colonial llamado EL BALCON DE LOS ARCAYA, construido en 1725, declarado Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la Unesco. Siendo actualmente la sede del Museo José María Cruxent, donde hay colecciones arqueológicas, antropológicas. Visite también la IGLESIA SAN FRANCISCO DE ASÍS, lugar que luego de su construcción, fue destruida en 1620 por los piratas. Ya para 2006 fue remodelada completamente y hoy alberga el Museo Diocesano Lucas Guillermo Castillo.

En el recorrido también estuve en la IGLESIA SAN NICOLAS DE BARI, siendo una de las iglesias más emblemáticas de la ciudad, por ser el primer camposanto construido en coro, LA CASA SOL ubicada en pleno casco colonial, llamada así por un imponente sol que se encuentra en su puerta principal.
También tuve la oportunidad de comer las famosas arepas peladas, dulce de leche y el rico chivo en coco, comida tradicional de Falcon. Degusté bebidas echas con Cocoy de Penca. Y se los recomiendo mucho ya que hacen de distintos sabores frutales.
