Splinterlands Weekly Challenge Battle! DRAGONS!
Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is a dragon battle. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The ruleset this time is silenced summoner. This ruleset means that there are no summoner buffs to either side. There is 26 mana available and I can use fire, death, or dragon.
The summoner I choose to use this time is Drake of Arnak. It's the highest-level dragon summoner that I can use and it means that I can play my cards to their highest abilities. As buffs do not matter, I am focused more on the summoner level.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Drake of Arnak | 4 | Summoner | Highest level dragon summoner |
Djinn Chwala | 8 | 1st | Thorns |
Corpse Fiend | 0 | 2nd | Filler |
Dragon Jumper | 7 | 3rd | Opportunity |
Venari Bonesmith | 4 | 4th | Poison and life leech |
Naga Assassin | 2 | 5th | Backfire |
Carrion Shade | 1 | 6th | Flying monster to counter sneak |
Total Mana: | 26 |
My plan is just to have a thorns tank along with some damage dealers. I have a few filler monsters to soak up damage and keep my damage dealers alive. I use Venari Bonesmith for the Poison because it is useful in these low mana matches and it also has life leech.
Round 1
At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think this will be a rough fight. It will be a battle of endurance to see whether or not I will be able to kill off Dark Ha'on in time. If I can kill that and the front-line tank, I will be able to win this match.
Round 3
With my front line tank dead, I have taken down half of Dark Ha'on and his tank. So this will be a large battle of endurance as I try to kill off his monsters before my monsters die.
Round 4
Unforunately, my dragon jumper is dead but I was able to take out his frontline tank as well due to poison. Dark Ha'on is also almost dead due to poison. With this, the match is over and it will be my win.
After a few rounds of trading blows, the match is officially over and I have beaten down the rest of the monsters. Poison was a great help in this match.
Conclusion
The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. It's a bit unfortunate that there were no sneak monsters but my line-up did exactly as I intended. The only issue was that my opponent was using a taunt monster and this didn't allow me to focus on my opponent's front line. It would have been better if my dragon jumper could also take out the low-health monsters as well. The reliance on poison helped me a lot and it killed off my opponent's tank and taunt monster.
Drake of Arnak was a great choice as a summoner it only cost 4 mana and it let me use my cards to their highest level. It's a bit unfortunate that I didn't get the +1 shield but it hurt my opponent more than it hurt me. After all, getting hit by the -1 speed would have definitely hurt my chances in this match.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
Interesting battle Bonesmith saved the battle with the poison ability.
