Splinterlands: Grandmaster Rathe and Pelacor Conjurer is a great combination

Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle that I won because of Grandmaster Rathe.

Featured cards

OGrandmaster Rathe is a life summoner that costs 4 mana. This summoner gives +1 armor, void armor, and amplify. I have this summoner at level 2. It's a great summoner due to the abilities on this card. It increases counter damage and makes it so that magic monsters have to go through armor first. So it's quite versatile as a summoner.

Pelacor Conjurer is a life splinter that costs 2 mana. It starts off with just the flying ability, but I think it shines when it is leveled up. it learns magic reflect at level 4, divine shield at level 7, and phase at level 10. I have this card at level 7 but my summoner isn't high enough level so I usually play this card at level 5. I use this card quite often due to the low mana cost.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Keep Your Distance and Explosive Weaponry. This means that no melee monsters can be used and all monsters gain the blast ability. There is also 15 mana and I can choose earth, life, or dragon splinter.

My tank is Pelacor Conjurer because of magic reflect and the amplified damage from Rathe. Then I have a martyr monster in the 2nd spot to tank some damage and to buff up my monsters. My last monster is Time Mage due to slow. There isn't much mana available so I am limited with my card choices.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think the match can go either way because of the reflection shield monster in the 2nd spot. I will have to see how many monsters die by the time my tank dies.

Round 2

round 2.png
My opponent lost one monster and that one monster dying let my tank survive an extra round. The magic reflect should take out another monster on the next turn and with the matyr damage, I should be able to win this match.

conclusion.png
I was able to win the match later that round as I expected. The magic damage can't miss so there weren't too many variables.

Conclusion

The battle this time played out as expected. I combined magic reflect with amplify to increase the counter damage and the void armor from Rathe let my Pelacor Conjurer survive longer. With this, I was able to win the match without any issues. I was worried about my Conjurer not living long enough but the legendary monster attacked first and died to the counter damage.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

With 15 mana available, using that card would limit the monsters you could place on the field. Rathe is a better fit because it would still hit the armor first. The reflect would still kill off that Captain Katie.
