The Power of a Structured Daily Routine

The world is all about systems, that's for sure. With so many demands on our time and attention, it's important to have a system in place to keep ourselves organized and on track. Personally, I've found that having a structured daily routine is what works best for me.

Well, this all started a few years back when I felt like I was being stretched too thin between work and family and personal commitments. I would go running around like a chicken with it's head cut off 😂 and I never felt like I was ever in the present or could ever put my whole focus into something. It was exhausting, and I knew I needed to make a change.

Oh well, after some trial and error I developed a schedule that has honestly made a difference in my productivity and over all feeling about life. The thing is, it's a system that is designed around me, and for me. It may not work for everyone, but it's been a total game-changer for me.

The basis of my system is a morning routine. I wake up at the same time every day (6 AM, no exceptions) and immediately do a brief meditation and journaling session. This helps me feel grounded and focused before diving into the day's tasks. And then, eh, I guess I have a type of order of importance that I need to do things in, check email, calendar, any pressing work related issues. I suppose it's this constant flow I have that prevents me from going on a tangent or procrastinating.

Open afternoons but I like to have some sort of structure. I'll usually block off time for exercise, whether it's a workout class or just a long walk outside. I've also scheduled in plenty of times for nutritious meals and snacks so that my energy and concentration levels stay peaked. I have a little ritual at night where I read a bit and do some light house cleaning and then I try to go to bed at a reasonable hour.

The best part about this is that the mental gymnastics of what to do next are gone. I don't even have to bother with trying to figure out what my priorities are or how to organize my day. It's all laid out for me, which frees up my brain to focus on actually getting things done.

And the best part? This system has only become more effective over time. It required a bit of will power in the beginning to keep up with the regimen, however it is now a habit. I'm more focused, less stressed, and able to be more present in all areas of my life. Oh yeah of course there are still unexpected surprises and curve balls that come along. But having this solid foundation means I can weather those storms without losing my footing.

So if you're feeling overwhelmed by the constant demands of modern life, I'd highly recommend exploring a structured daily routine of your own 💪 . It might require some trial and error to see what works for you, but the boost in productivity, lack of stress, and overall quality of life is honestly priceless.

Daily routines, have worked for me and have been difficult to manage at the same time. Doesn’t matter if you don’t have the discipline and skills to navigate what you created lol
