THE JOB I FEAR.

The air is fresh and cool, The birds are chirping, The morning sun is slowly rising, as the sun continues to rise, it cast's its light upon the universe....Hmm.. I can sense it from my window.
Oh!
It's another beautiful day....
A day to pick up our our lives from where we stopped, Another day to keep chasing that dream we have believed in.

And another for us to remember that waking up it not by our power but by the strength of whom who created the universe.

Well, I have this nostalgic feeling today maybe because I need to write on the topic: THAT ONE JOB.

Growing up in an area at Ibadan,Oyo state Nigeria, It was loving, peaceful though not so peaceful and definitely very dramatic.
Yeah very dramatic!

You know disagreement today, fight tomorrow, tenant to tenant's saga, landlord to landlord's display and all that.
The area boy's are not left out.....
With all of this disorders present in the atmosphere of the society there comes a particular set of people in the society whom we should confide in,whom ought to look out for us,whom ought to protect us,whom we should always run to talk about the chaos in the society without fear of been hurt but it's a pity they are the one harming us. Though not all!

They are the POLICE force.
We call them 'Olopa' in Yoruba Language .

I can never be a police officer.
From childhood I have never loved the job, though now I noticed that not everyone in the force are the same.

Growing I noticed there is set of people I see on black uniforms and other accessories in there dressing is always black just the touch of their names is white.

They made us believe that this people are corrupted,we can't go to them and report just anybody to them.
What if the person gives them money?
What if the person has the connection the other person do not have?
A lot of what if this or that? this set of people has caused in our society.
This people who are supposed to be a light in the society are often the people or tool being used in tormenting us.

One of the reasons why I can't even work as a police officer is the fact that my Mum and Dad do not like them.

My mum specifically called I and my younger brother one day and told us she has already informed our elder brothers that no one in our family should ever think of becoming a police (she called them Olopa),she said she don't want to produce that and she believes anyone in that job are bad people even when I am aware that not everyone of them is bad but the percentage is higher than the other.

There is no day I leave my house I will not get to meet this people who will always stop the car's motorcycles or tricycles to demand and collect money.
The transport workers now think they don't have choice than to be giving them money every time.

Even in small communities,you will always see them on standby and their mission is to collect money.
There was a day I was going home from where I was learning a skill, the bus that I boarded engaged in a heated argument with the officers that stopped him, he said this is the third time he will give them money that day,he refused he is not going to give them another one.

That day they asked everyone of us in that bus to get down and drove the man's bus to their station.
I'm very sure the man would be demanded to pay in multiple folds of what was asked of earlier.

So many experiences I can't just be typing here.

Is it a thief that was caught robbing a particular house that was arrested, handed over to them and they released him.
They released some one who is disturbing the peace of the society back to the society to have more power because he now has the backing of those who should be backing the society up!!!

One of the experience I had with them and I can never forget is that if you have this people as family members or friends, don't just call on them if you are in a particular trouble that only them can interfere they will embarrass you.

There was a day one of my neighbors husband was arrested along side with some set of people in a canteen,this people were criminals.
When we were informed in our house every one of us affirmed that this man can never be part of this criminals,he was just there as any other person to eat and even his look and dressing doesn't look irresponsible.
This is a very responsible man but they insisted.
Luckily for the man the criminals confessed he wasn't part of them

We were very happy that at least he will be released but they insisted that the wife must pay money to bail him.
This is someone who knew nothing,who was not guilty.
The wife just picked up her phone to call one officer in another station who is a friend to her elder brother but they are also good friends to please assist her.
The man plainly told her there is nothing he can do,he said even if it should be in his station and he can't be the only one involved in the arrest so he can't have absolute power.

That was how we later paid the police officers to bail this man.

Since then I don't even want to have anything to do with them if not when am close to some and I noticed there are still good folks amidst them.

There are still officers who are working diligently and serving their father's land with all truth and honesty! They are loyal and have the interest and love of the people in their heart.

How I wish every other Police officers can be like them or emulate this true virtue of what the Police Force truly stands for, The society would have been more beautiful to live in

This is the job I can never do no matter the pay.
