Something strange is happening in Covenant [FallOut 4]

Hello to the entire PeakD platform and especially to the Hive Gaming community, today I come to bring you this mission that I found very entertaining to do in FallOut 4.

Walking through the Commonwealth I found a pretty well fortified settlement, with walls and machine guns, it caught my attention instantly and I wanted to enter. When I got there I had to talk to Swanson and he told me that in order to enter I had to pass a test to make sure I wasn't a Synth (a robot with a human appearance like in the Terminator movies).

Hola a toda la plataforma de PeakD y sobre todo a la comunidad de Hive Gaming el día de hoy vengo a traerles esta misión que me resultó muy entretenida de realizar en FallOut 4.

Caminando por la Commonwealth me encontré con un asentamiento bastante bien fortificado, con muros y ametralladoras, me llamó la atención al instante y quise entrar. Al llegar tuve que hablar con Swanson y me dijo que para poder entrar debía pasar una prueba y así estar seguro de que no era un Synth(ósea un robot con aspecto humano como las películas de Terminator).

The next thing was one of the winks of the video game that I liked the most so far and that is that the questions of the test to enter are the questions of the G.O.A.T. exam, the same that they ask us in Fallout 3 starting the story, I hope someone who played both games would have felt the same as I did to share the feeling.

Lo siguiente fue uno de los guiños del videojuego que más me ha gustado hasta ahora y es que las preguntas de la prueba para ingresar son las preguntas del examen G.O.A.T., las mismas que nos hacen en Fallout 3 empezando la historia, espero que alguien que jugó ambos juegos hubiera sentido lo mismo que yo para compartir el sentimiento.

Once I passed the test they let me in and I found a very nice, safe and cozy place. I could sleep, eat, refill water and there was even a doctor, in other words the perfect settlement if you are playing in Survival mode.

Una vez pasada la prueba me dejaron entrar y me encontré con un lugar muy bonito, seguro y acogedor. Podía dormir, comer, recargar agua y había inclusive un médico, en otras palabras el asentamiento perfecto si estás jugando en modo Supervivencia.

But not everything could be roses, since I started talking to the settlers they were a little scared or nervous to talk about the place, some of them even kept working without letting me talk to them.

Pero no todo podía ser color de rosas, desde que empecé a hablar con los colonos se mostraron un poco asustados o nerviosos en hablar del lugar, algunos inclusive seguían trabajando sin dejarme hablar con ellos.

The character that intensifies all this matter is Dan who tells us that he was hired to find the daughter of the owner of a merchant caravan, the clue led him directly to this settlement, but when he arrived, the mayor told him that the caravan had never been there and Dan firmly believes that there are Synths involved in all this mystery.

He asked me for help to solve the whole thing and I accepted, since I was really interested in everything I had heard so far. I like it when this situation happens in a video game, something like here's a cat in the bag, and we go into detective mode.

El personaje que intensifica todo este asunto es Dan quien nos dice que fue contratado para encontrar a la hija del dueño de una caravana comerciante, la pista lo llevo directo a este asentamiento, pero cuando llegó, el alcalde le dijo que dicha caravana nunca había estado allí además de eso Dan cree firmemente que hay Synths involucrados en todo este misterio.

Me pidió ayuda para resolver todo el asunto y acepté, ya que realmente me interesó todo lo que había escuchado hasta ahora. Me gusta cuando esta situación sucede en un videojuego, algo así como aquí hay gato encerrado, y nos ponemos en modo detective.

So I started questioning the other Covenant settlers without trying to frame anyone and being very careful not to be seen snooping where I shouldn't be.

I noticed that a couple of houses were suspiciously locked so I decided to take a little more direct action by stealing the mayor's keys to open them. Once inside I logged into the computer to find out some very suspicious data in which they claimed to be taking survivors to a place called The Complex.

Entonces empecé a interrogar a los demás colonos de Covenant sin tratar de inculpar a nadie y teniendo mucho cuidado de que no me vieran husmeando dónde no debía.

Me di cuenta de que un par de casas estaban sospechosamente bloqueadas por eso decidí tomar acciones un poco más directas robando las llaves del alcalde para abrirlas. Una vez adentro ingresé al ordenador para enterarme de datos muy sospechosos en los que aseguraban llevar a supervivientes a un lugar llamado El Complejo.

I told Dan everything and we set off, before we left the mayor threatened me and told me to abandon this whole plan or I would regret it. But it was too late, there was work to do.

Le conté todo a Dan y nos pusimos en marcha, antes de irnos el alcalde me amenazo y me dijo que abandonara todo este plan o me arrepentiría. Pero ya era tarde, había trabajo que hacer.

Dan and I found ourselves in The Complex and upon entering we were greeted in a very hostile manner so we had to make our way through the soldiers that were there.

When we arrived at the target we met the doctor who told us the whole thing in detail, Covenant is a facade, they passed it off as a settlement where people can trade and camp, but the truth is that its main objective is to kidnap people suspected of being Synths and then interrogate them in deplorable conditions using the “safe test” which besides being very inaccurate, is a mental torture and requires many test subjects.

Al llegar al objetivo nos encontramos con la doctora que nos cuenta todo el asunto a detalle, Covenant es una fachada, lo hacían pasar por un asentamiento donde la gente puede comerciar y acampar, pero la verdad es que su principal objetivo es raptar a personas sospechosas de ser Synths para luego interrogarlas en condiciones deplorables utilizando la "prueba segura" que además de ser muy poco precisa, es una tortura mental y requiere muchos sujetos de prueba.

The doctor assured me that it is the best way to do battle against the Synth and The Institute (the creators of these) and proposed to me as a deal to let her continue doing her experiments in exchange for a few bottle caps.

La doctora me aseguraba que es el mejor camino para lograr batallar contra los Synth y El Instituto (los creadores de estos) y me propuso cómo trato dejarla seguir realizando sus experimentos a cambio de unas cuantas chapas.

She had told her whole plan and while she had a good goal, the path she was using was quite evil and hurt innocent people, so I had to do what I came here to do.

Había contado todo su plan y, si bien tenía un objetivo bueno, el camino que estaba utilizando era bastante malvado y le hacía daño a personas inocentes, entonces tuve que hacer lo que vine a hacer.

After taking care of the doctor, I released the merchant's daughter to complete my mission with Dan. The job was done, but I was left wondering what would happen now with Covenant? I liked the structure of the settlement a lot, so I went to check it out.

Luego de encargarme de la doctora, liberé a la hija del comerciante para completar mi misión con Dan. Ya el trabajo estaba hecho, pero me quedó la duda de ¿qué pasaría ahora con Covenant? La estructura del asentamiento me había gustado mucho, así que fui a revisar.

As soon as I approached they were all pointing and shooting at me wherever they could, exclaiming comments like “You ruined everything” so.... I had to defend myself, the other option was to run away, but, the fact that as soon as I got there they were shooting at me only indicated that they were all accomplices, so that's how it was... they all died... the good guys... the bad guys... everyone.
What would you have done?

Nada más acércame todos me estaban apuntando y disparándome donde les fuera posible exclamando comentarios como "Lo arruinaste todo" así que... tuve que defenderme, la otra opción era huir, pero, el hecho de que nada más llegar me estuvieran disparando solo indica que todos eran cómplices así que así fue... murieron todos... los buenos... los malos... todos.

In Fallout 3 they only served to assign you skill points according to the answers but here in 4 yes, it is to “know” if you are a robot or a human, anyway the test gave many false positives...

I remember it was the first Fall Out game that I enjoyed, I managed to catch me even though I felt that the dialogues were poor but that didn't make me enjoy it any less, then I decided to try other installments and they were totally worth it. Just a while ago I was thinking of playing it again so I think this is my call hahaha thanks for bringing it here, I hope you enjoy the adventure in the wilderness.

Thanks for answer to my post.

For many (many) years I wanted to play this game but I didn't have a computer powerful enough to run it, about 1 or 2 years ago I managed to buy the laptop from which I am writing but I felt that I still needed more power since it was not a high spec laptop but I gave it a chance, I downloaded it, installed it and lowered all the graphics and to my surprise, it ran great hehe.
