Today, we're diving into the exciting world of the Hall of Legends, a promotional card sales event brought to you by Steem Monsters Corp (SMC), the team behind Splinterlands. This event is backed by the SPS DAO, which has invested a significant 600 million DEC tokens to support the sale of these unique promo cards. In return, all proceeds from the event will flow back to the SPS DAO.

As we explore these new cards, we’ll consider their potential impact on both the modern and wild league battles. While there are inherent risks—especially with the possibility of the sales not meeting expectations—the SPS DAO is confident in the outcome. So, are these promo cards a boon for players, or do they present more challenges than benefits? Let’s find out!

Rare

Night Stalker - Check out this formidable melee card! It can attack backline units thanks to its unique "sneak" ability. In addition to that, it has two powerful abilities: "execute" and "blast," which could make it quite overwhelming. However, it does have a significant weakness—its low health. At level 1, it only has 2 health, making it particularly susceptible to damage. To really take advantage of its strengths, you'll want to level it up.

I expect to see this card frequently in ranked battles soon. It will likely pair well with other sneak-focused reward cards that are currently dominating the meta in sneak battles. Lastly, it is a dual-element promo card which makes it more flexible.

Uses and Advantages
  • It is great in melee battles only
  • Great in low-mana matches
  • Flexible: Dual-Element

Legendary

Delya - At first glance, this legendary card might seem ordinary, but its abilities reveal its true potential. With a speed of 5 and 4 range damage at max level, it boasts an impressive accuracy, hitting its target 90% of the time.

Although it requires a high mana cost, Delya’s four abilities allow it to evade both melee and ranged attacks when it takes damage, though it remains susceptible to magic damage. Designed to inflict substantial range damage, its "double strike" ability enhances its offensive capabilities, while "dodge," "amplify," and "backfire" provide solid defensive options. However, its main weakness lies in its vulnerability to magic damage.

Uses and Advantages
  • It's great in range-only matches
  • Also great in melee matches if positioned well, great counter for backline hitters.
  • Flexible: Neutral card
  • Great counter for melee and range because of backfire and amplify.

These promo cards are brilliantly designed and make fantastic additions to your deck. Now is the perfect time to snag those DECs in the market while their value is low. Stock up on them and either use them for this event or hold onto them until their value increases, especially with Uptober approaching. You never know what could happen!
