Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Epic Gladiator Card Edition
Gladiator Cards are a great addition to the gameplay of the Splinterlands ranked battles. They can be minted by acquiring merits in-game by participating in guild brawls. These are not considered NFTs because they are not transferrable. These cards were unique back in the old days because they have an ability called "Bloodlust", which every time they defeat an opponent, they get +1 to all stats. Every time their stats get +1 they become stronger and stronger which makes them sometimes unhittable in multiple rounds.
For example, melee and range attacks have a hard time landing damage on the cards that get multiple stats because of the bloodlust ability. Except for magic attacks, they can deal damage but if they have this called "Phase" ability, and if the speed of the monster gets higher and higher the probability of magic damage to hit is low. If my knowledge is right, I don't think there is a card that has that ability on the Gladiator cards edition. Correct me if I'm wrong in the comments section below.
To better understand what I'm babbling about, the highlight of this blog is an Epic Gladiator Card named "Quora Towershead". Quora Towershead is an epic card from the "Earth Splinter". It has two-equipped attack damage, a combination of melee and magic damage. It possesses the bloodlust ability that I'm talking about. If utilized properly in the battle this can be a disastrous line-up.
I usually pair up Quora Towershead with monsters that possess the ability "Martyr", just like the bloodlust ability when the monster with martyr ability dies its adjacent monsters will get +1 to all stats. By this, Quora Towershead will gain more stats and become more powerful. However, this should be done properly through positioning because this can be countered easily. Those abilities that Quora Towershead also possesses such as immunity and healing ability make her great for sustaining herself and also for getting poisoned and stunned.
Ranked battles as of now are getting exciting because of the new abilities and rulesets the game is releasing. The competition now is hard to predict unlike when there are limited abilities and rulesets, you can easily predict what your opponent's line-up is. Although this is confusing at first, by experience and learning you can adapt to those abilities.
I'll end this here, that's it for the Community Challenge this week. I just want to highlight this wonderful gladiator card. Thanks for reading!!!!
