Community Engagement Challenge (A Support Articles For Land 101)
The land has been part of the game since @Splinterlands emerged in the Web3 gaming industry. It has a clear objective functionality in the progression of the game. However, these functions have not yet been implemented and developed into the game because the land has been delayed. The only land function right now is farming such as grains, SPS, and the Secret of Pretoria research. These farmed pieces of resources can be used in the later part if the land has been fully developed and implemented.
In this support article let's discuss the land and its functionality at the moment it was introduced into the game.
Land (The Secret Of Praetoria)
Praetoria consists of 150 land regions with each consisting of 100 land plots. If you do the math, there are a total of 150,000 land plots. Those land plots are organized into 10 different tracts within each region and the regions are grouped into 7 different territories of between 20 and 22 regions each. If you're lucky enough to find out about Splinterlands during the early months of its journey in the web3 gaming industry, you can grab a Land Plot with a discounted amount compared to its price during the peak value of web3 assets in the year 2021 until now.
The Secret of Praetoria's expansion to Splinterlands has been divided into (5) Five Phases.
Phase 1: Claiming and Surveying of land plots is the first function introduced in the Land Expansion. This was released in Quarter 1 2023
.
Phase 2: Card/DEC Staking & Resource Production is the second function in the Land Expansion. This was released in Quater 3 2023
.
Phase 3: Full Buildings & Resource Production - Release Date: Undefined
Phase 4: Item & Spell Crafting - Release Date: Undefined
Phase 5: Items & Spells In Battles - Release Date: Undefined
Understanding Production Points (PP) in Praetoria
In Praetoria, the efficiency of resource production, building construction, and various other activities is quantified through a system of Production Points (PP). The amount of PP required varies based on the task at hand, and each card utilized in the game contributes a certain amount of PP per hour.
PP Contribution by Card Rarity and Foil
The base PP values are determined by the maximum level of the cards, with lower-level cards contributing proportionally less based on their BCX (Base Card Experience). For example, a 100 BCX Common card from the Chaos Legion will provide 250 base PP per hour, reflecting its 1/4 max BCX status.
Here's a breakdown of the PP contributions:
Multipliers for Older Editions
Older card editions provide significant multipliers to the base PP contributions. This means they can generate much higher PP than newer cards.
The multipliers for different sets are:
Point of View: These provide utility to the older cards of the game.
Max Base Production Limit
To maintain balance, there is a cap of 100,000 base PP on a single land plot during phase 1.5. This cap applies only to base production and does not include bonuses or Runi contributions.
The game UI will display the PP values from cards on land plots, allowing players to experiment with different combinations without needing to perform complex calculations. This system encourages strategic planning and maximizes production efficiency in Praetoria.
Rarity
Land NFTs also have rarity the same as the Card NFTs, such as common, rare, epic, and legendary land plots. The possibility of receiving each rarity of the land plot when surveying and the production boost is dependent on the survey chance the Dev implemented.
Probabilities are:
Magical & Occupied Land
Aside from Land Rarity, Splinterlands has also included some twists in the land system. It included Magical Land which functions best in mining the "Secret of Praetoria Research" and the Occupied Land which is best in mining "SPS".
Magical Land can be obtained with a survey chance of 12% and have a 100% boost in production. On the other hand, Occupied land has a lesser survey chance of 3% but with a 100% boost in production same as the magical land.
Let's end it here in the meantime. I'll continue this next week for another "Community Engagement Challenge". Tune in for more Support Articles For Land. Thanks for reading and see you next week. Keep safe and stay hydrated!
