Houseplant; understanding flowers and plants.
I never knew the extraordinary charm and the extent of which a flower could hold peace and aesthetic in an atmosphere till I found myself in one. I just know somehow that God knew what he was doing when sit down and created flowers, it's like he was showing us just how far his beauty could go. And it happens that some flowers aren't just for decoration or viewing, some are pretty medicinal, and often flowers are seen or symbolized as pure, beautiful, peaceful, clarity, freedom, even immortality.
As a little girl back then I wasn't really opportune to have come around such dazzling and alluring plants or flowers and that was because I grow up with parents that weren't really fun of flowers or plants inside the house, which I don't blame them, because I wasn't so interested in having them around admiring them from afar was enough for me.
Well all that changed years back when I visited my uncle, and let's just say I have never seen someone so invested in flowers and herbs like him, his house was beautified by the different types of flowers, till today I can't even name some of his plants. In his balcony he had so many flower pots and flower vest around that gave the place a peaceful aura, you could literally just go there to think, get fresh air, admire the flowers, meditate, there's a level of attachment you will feel once you're around a place fill with natural source, you feel like you have become one with nature. And that's the feeling I get every time I sit on the balcony to read.
But that's not the only thing that amazed me. Every morning my uncle wakes up and tends to his plants. The amount of dedication was really mind-blowing, he will water them every morning and make sure they are healthy. He told me the way you as a human need food, water, attention, care when you're sick, that's the exact same amount of attention plants need to survive and grow healthy, the moment you neglect them it's either they become a total disaster with all the weeds around them or they die.
And this concept surely applies to our living, just like plants and flowers, we need the attention, the care, the love to grow. The moment that is not involved in our lives we go astray and wither. I just thought we humans should pay more attention to our ecosystem, I never knew I could get the amount of peace and sanity in my uncle's house. But it worked just fine.
I was able to help my uncle some mornings I woke up early to water the plants and lucky for me I was able to get some of the seeds, I got back home and I started my own houseplants, though my family found it super weird but they are adapting to it, my brother sometimes helps me out mostly especially when I'm busy and can't water the plants before heading to school.
One of my favorites plant is called the snowbush, it's one plant that need extra care and attention, if it's in a dry environment or it's not being watered enough it dies or shriveled, sometimes I often wonder if this plants have feelings like us, just the other day I found out plants are about to communicate, which I personally found it cute, knowing they need almost same treatment as human being to live so they can provide for us our daily meals is pretty magnificent.
