Dreem space; An apartment
For me a Dreem space is that special place where you feel free, comfortable, you feel inspired to do things, it could be a tress you like sitting to read novels and it gives you peace just being there on your own.
At first, when I saw this challenge, I had to question my sanity to come up with something—mind you, not because I didn't have a Dreem space ideas but because I had a lot just saved in my mind. But one I honestly wanted so badly since I was a little girl—I mean, since I hit puberty—was my own little apartment. Since I was a kid, I have had to adapt to the fact that I need to share a room with my siblings. I rarely had my space; I couldn't just stay in the room quietly, sitting with my thoughts, because you only think and reflect in a peaceful environment. But sharing deprived me of a certain level of privacy; I had to take excuses every time, so my siblings went out while I changed.
It became so tiring when I got back from college because on campus at least I might not get all the privacy in the hostel because obviously we have roommates, but even at that, I still had my little space, my little corner, that I could arrange and come back to see it still arranged. I could keep things where I could find them, but while sharing, you don't get that privilege. You can't keep your stuff and come back and see it the way you kept it.
And you can't imagine what I go through with my two brothers. They are kings of picking things up and not returning them where they saw them.
It's just been a month since I graduated, and I already want to move out. My independent mindset won't allow me to stay back at home for more than five months. So I started saving little by little for an ideal apartment—my ideal apartment, my little space with privacy. Another motivation for this was my friend's apartment. She doesn't have much, but she started saving early. It took a few months, even a year, to buy all the furniture, but she did it.
My Dreem space, which happens to be my Dreem apartment, should entail the following:
• A one-bedroom apartment with a bed
• A kitchen inside.
• A toilet.
• A couch.
• A television is not so necessary, though.
• I will love those little color light-ups.
I think getting my Dreem space actually would express my independence; it goes beyond that; I will own my own space and my own privacy; I will be able to think, do silly things like sing, create my own dish, dance, and just have this peace of mind, knowing fully well that I can provide for myself. I think that's all I really want.
My biggest challenge towards this Dreem is finance, but I have deprived means of saving and hive has be one of my piggy bank so just maybe before this year ends I might just get my Dreem space.
