(ESP-ENG) The Terminal List, la MEJOR serie del año hasta ahora? // The Terminal List, the BEST series of the year so far?
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
For a while now and proof of this have been the last series I have seen I have been a consumer of Amazon Prime and I must say that I have not been disappointed at all, this is the third series in a row that I see in this platform and the result goes beyond what I can express writing this review. The Terminal List is a miniseries starring and produced by Chris Pratt, a pure military thriller that will leave you nailed to the chair and will turn you into an addict to the point that you will want to watch chapter after chapter, and so much so that I watched it in two days, eight chapters of almost an hour each in just two days. That's how good it is.
I knew it was good because I personally like to read a little before watching things and according to Rotten Tomatoes it is the second most watched and most popular series of all streaming platforms; considering the huge amount of content out there this is something very relevant and most important of all, I believe it because I already watched it. The fact that I said that the military theme is the center of everything does not stop you from watching this series in case you do not like that theme, I say this because the plot goes far beyond, there are conspiracies, revenge, family and at least Pratt's performance is masterful. But well, let's talk a little about this gem of a show that gave us this actor who hangs out with dinosaurs, is a guardian of the galaxy and now is a SEAL.
The plot tells the story of James Reece (Chris Pratt) an experienced and highly decorated Navy Seal who is, along with his platoon, on a mission that in the paperwork was high risk and logically secret but being undercover the guarantee of success was pretty good. The thing is that out of nowhere they suffer an ambush in which several of his companions do not have much to do making the end of this mission a complete failure. From here is when Reece's real suffering begins, basically because of the guilt he will carry on his shoulders for having been the commander of that group of soldiers.
James returns from that mission and takes refuge in his loved ones, his wife and daughter, in the hope that they will help him overcome those episodes that he constantly relives in his mind. They are confusing memories that are mixed with reality to the point that many times he himself comes to question the facts of that ambush. But as imminently the truth always comes out, evidence begins to emerge that it was planned and Reece realizes that there are great strings of power behind all this working against him to silence and that nothing is known. This is where we will see the experience of a Seal who decides to go after all those involved in order to impart justice himself.
When I said that I like to read before watching something I mean the common people, who like you and me enjoy watching series and movies, I never read the "critics" because for them nothing is ever well done, everything gets a detail. In this one almost as much the people I read and obviously me after having seen it agree on something: it is an incredibly well done and entertaining series. Look that the stories of this style of military seeking justice because they are accusing them of things that are not are very cliché but as the fact does not imply what this series in addition to its great action scenes with their respective explosions, tactical military deployments and hand to hand combat also has an important dramatic load. Reece's mind is a chaos and for things that happen in the story, which is not necessary to say them now, you will realize what a great actor he is to the point that on several occasions we can get emotional watching the suffering he is going through.
It is a story so vertical and incisive that from the first chapter you get hooked, there will be no way to stop watching it once you've started and each episode is a novelty, a completely different world where we dive more and more into the story. A story that as I said is full of many conspiracies, typical in this world, and that are responsible for giving the necessary life to the plot to move forward. And there is nothing like seeing a soldier with a mission between eyebrow and eyebrow, until it is not completed this will not stop, is to see a killing machine and if the motivation is revenge, even worse.
This series has a very particular ingredient and that is that something happens to Reece, something that may limit him a little in everything he is planning to do. This undoubtedly creates much more anguish and "anxiety" to the viewer because you do not know what might happen, it creates an atmosphere of uncertainty to know what and how the next step will be. And all this is accompanied by a very top cinematography, as they place some memories with others, the past with the present to the point that sometimes even one can get confused with the timeline. All this done with nothing to envy to a big Hollywood blockbuster, from the heavy military part to the most sensitive and human.
But none of that is worth if behind it there is not a good actor and Chris Pratt is the piece. We are used to seeing him in roles where drama, sadness and having nothing to lose are elements that do not exist, he is more the adventurous and funny one. But here it is possible to see that other side, where he is a much more introverted character who carries a burden and a very big internal struggle. Pratt's interpretation in some scenes is very remarkable and convincing, you believe his suffering both external and internal, and if we add to that that the role of the military also makes it ten, in the end it is a mixture of a very good character, which is why he is one of the best paid in the industry. The military in series and movies always have the same stereotype, here I think he breaks out of that mold, fortunately.
The casting is completed by Taylor Kitstch (Ben Edwards) who is Reece's loyal partner and who will help him to complete everything he has to do to be at peace, Constance Wu who plays Katie Buranek, a very insightful journalist who being behind the truth we will see if she manages to ally with James or just uses him to write her story and simply seek fame and Jai Courtney who plays Steve Horn, a man of money and cold who will be key to the uncovering of all this plot of black hands. These are the most relevant characters of the series, the ones that attract the most attention. All the cast is very good, except for Chris Pratt there are no big names but the truth is that there is no need, having great figures is no guarantee that it will be a success or that a story will catch people's attention as, in my opinion, this one is doing.
It may seem a bit exaggerated on my part to say that this is the best series of the year so far considering that not long ago we enjoyed Severance, Tokyo Vice, Peacemaker, Shining Girls or Outer Range itself, but the adrenaline rush that this series injects you with when you watch it is at its peak. But is that enough? - Obviously not. Here we see how a simple story can become a thriller of the most exciting and dizzying, seeing Chris Pratt in a series is also a detail to take into account, these are things that rarely happen, they are actors of great films who decided to bet on this project that as I see it is very worthwhile.
In conclusion, yes, I may exaggerate for some but I don't change my opinion. I am a person to watch more series than movies and this one surprised me a lot, at the same level as Tokyo Vice I would say which was an extraordinary series. I give it a 9.5/10 because from beginning to end I liked it and it caught me, I have nothing negative to say about it. It's pure and hard action and as a lover of that genre I have to appreciate it. The way it ended, there is no need for a second season, it was a closed ending, the circle was sealed. If they decided to make a second installment it would be incredible but I really don't think so and there is no need. You can find it on Amazon Prime, it has eight episodes of 55-60 minutes approximately. Here is the trailer.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos leemos en la próxima!
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.

This is a series I have had my eye on for a while and I'm so glad it has finally been released. Amazon Prime has quickly become my favorite streaming platform ever since I saw The Boys and Invincible. I am currently seeing Outer Range which is another awesome series. The shows I've seen so far are really good and now this? Wow! It sounds really really nice.
Once I'm done with Outer Range I'll see PeaceMaker before this one. Your review is really good and has convinced me to see the show. Thanks for reminding me about it.
Thank you for reading.
Yes, the truth is that Amazon Prime is putting out very good series and the proof of that is this and Outer Range. I highly recommend it, it's one of the best I've seen lately.
Greetings, my friend!
¡Felicitaciones!

I love this review. It seems Amazon Prime is giving viewers the best of the best in the industry. I saw a movie that Chris Pratt starred and directed not long ago and I loved it. I would watch anything Chris Pratt.
Chris pratt is good! THanks for putting this production in my queue list! looks like a good action in there
