(ESP-ENG) Música nueva, música que está sonando!
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
A month has passed and here we are again with some of the songs that throughout the month of May have seen the light to begin to warm up and prepare for what will be the summer. I would like to think that artists think a little bit about this when releasing their music and this time of the year is a perfect opportunity to release a song and make it the sensation of at least the next 2 to 3 months. An example of this is what happened last year with "Quédate", Quevedo's music session with Bizarrap which was a total craze as it was a track that shook all the platforms, parties, clubs and beaches. This year, so far, I don't see a song that can do that but that doesn't mean we have bad tracks so let's see what's new.
- Foo Fighters - Show Me How
This mythical band and of an impressive cult as you well know a little more than a year ago lost one of its main axes, Taylor Hawkins, who in life was the drummer. Taylor besides being a really top musician according to those close to him was also a better person and father so his loss was a hard blow for them, for the music and for all the fans. I say this because this song is one of the songs that make up the new album they decided to do after a short break. If you listen to it you will realize that this song is not as rock as they are used to do, they keep their essence but it is definitely a little different sound. The incredible thing about this song is a couple of things: Dave Grohl's versatility to sing anything and the incorporation of Violet Grohl, the vocalist's daughter, who for some time now has been accompanying her father in several sessions with the band. The combination of both voices is brutal, it sounds very harmonious and compact, Violet's voice is very sweet. The lyrics are a tribute to Dave's mother as it is a song that talks about how to overcome the loss of a close one, what to do and how to face the challenges that these situations bring. The song is very heartfelt and beautiful, if you can connect with it I am sure you will enjoy it much more.
- Jason Derulo - When Love Sucks (feat. Dido)
Who around here has not heard great songs like "Thank you" or "Stan" where this British singer-songwriter, Dido, toured the world. It was back in the late nineties, early 2000's when this pair of songs began to sound in such a way that they became one of the best songs on the Billboard charts. The song "Thank you" is one of the songs that have been covered the most throughout contemporary history, this tells the impact that today continues to maintain even with the new generations. Jason Derulo is known for making remixes and versions that end up sounding pretty good, it has happened in the past and this time he did it again. With a new title track he used the base of Dido's song and with the help of Dido herself gave way to "When Love Sucks", a song that takes part of the original lyrics to explain how toxic a relationship can be. Evidently the sound is much more current than what we heard in 1998 but to be able to hear that melody so characteristic today and that it continues to generate that people enjoy the song tells us that music has no age. I'm not a big fan of Derulo but we must recognize that when he sets out to do something entirely commercial he does it like few others and if this song was already well known, it's even easier. A simple track that is easy to listen to, mostly because of Dido, one of the most underrated artists in the industry, in my humble opinion.
- Maroon 5 - Middle Ground
Finally I decided to go for a band that has not been talked about much around here but this time they bring us a very emotional and cool song. To categorize Maroon 5's genre has always seemed complex to me because sometimes they sing rock but other times they are very pop and this time I would say that this sound is very country/ballad or at least it has some hidden touches and nuances. Adam Levine's voice is another one of those privileged ones because he is also a very versatile guy within his vocal range, he is very high pitched but when he wants to go a little bit lower in the scale he sounds amazing anyway and in this song you can realize that. I like the melody and musicality of this song, that's the first thing I look at more than the lyrics, there are people who appreciate the lyrics first and then the sound but that's not my case; if I don't like the music I won't listen to the song. Middle Ground is a song that talks about a person who is a little tired of everything, of life and of the relationship that I assume he is living and who constantly wonders if in order to solve everything there could be a middle ground in things. The lyrics are really nice but even more so is the music, I think it's a pretty good combination. Maroon 5 is characterized a lot with that, with that ability to combine good lyrics with a catchy sound that makes people want to listen and sing, hence the large number of hits they have. Very good song, simple but that fulfills.
¡Un abrazo, nos escuchamos en la próxima!
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.
¡A hug, we'll hear you in the next one!
Hola @javyeslava.photo,
