Esta semana para los que somos amantes del futbol ha sido una de las más esperadas y es que después de unos cuantos meses de ausencia vuelve la competición por excelencia del futbol europeo. Vivimos un muy buen mundial pero creo que ya es hora de que los clubes se comiencen a encarrilar en lo que son sus aspiraciones para esta temporada y parte de ese proceso involucra hacer un buen papel y llegar en la mejor forma posible a la Champions. Los octavos de final de esta edición son demás interesantes y eso ya lo vimos tanto el martes como el día de ayer con partidos para todos los gustos, anteayer tuvimos un encuentro que rayó en lo deprimente y aburrido mientras que en la noche europea de ayer fuimos testigos de un partido muy entretenido en donde las ocasiones de gol no faltaron.

Esa hegemonía a la que nos tienen acostumbrados no está presente, no se si será por algo en su juego, porque Nagelsmann no está sabiendo dar con el clavo correcto o porque es un simple bajón, uno que están sufriendo muchos equipos en el viejo continente. La realidad es que llegaban a este partido como favoritos, por lo menos para mi, pero habiendo visto lo sucedido en la cancha mi opinión cambió rápidamente.

Por otra parte el PSG tampoco es otro que está pasando por un momento dorado, en lo que va de año han perdido cinco partidos, una cifra poco habitual en ellos y aunque si van un poco más "cómodos" en su competición local no me atrevería a decir que están en buena forma. Comenzaba el partido en el Parque de los Príncipes y desde muy temprano vimos como el conjunto alemán se adueñaba del balón pero lo hacía sin peligro alguno, sin causar ningún susto a Donnarumma, mientras que el PSG lo que hacía era mirar la pelota pasearse de un lado a otro y aprovechar el mínimo espacio para realizar un contraataque, el detalle es que para eso no contaban con Mbappé ya que no estaba al 100% para jugar los noventa minutos. Esto lo digo porque a lo largo del encuentro nos daremos cuenta de lo dependiente que es este equipo del jugador francés.

La realidad es que fue un primer tiempo para el olvido, el PSG no llegó ni una sola vez, fueron completamente estériles teniendo a Messi, Neymar y Verratti en cancha, me impresiona mucho como este equipo con tanto nombre no sea capaz de mostrar un mínimo de juego vistoso y asociado, y si, esto no es nuevo, esto lleva unos buenos años ya pero pasa el tiempo y no hay mejoría. Para mi y siempre lo he dicho, el PSG es un equipo de segunda. El Bayern aunque tampoco hizo gran cosa por lo menos le vimos una intención, trataron dentro de sus posibilidades generar algo de juego pero que de igual manera fue en vano. Sané, Musiala, Cancelo, estrenando camiseta, y un medio campo de fuerza y creación con Goretzka y Kimmich no fueron capaces de derrumbar, por lo menos en los primeros 45 minutos, a un PSG perdido y sin alma.

Algo dijo Nagelsmann en el vestuario que les cambió el chip por completo a los jugadores, mucho más ímpetu, más verticales, adelantaron las líneas para jugar en el campo del contrario y ese juego asfixiante lo empezaron a notar los jugadores del PSG. Entra Alphonso Davies y hay otra cara al punto de que de sus botines salió la asistencia para que el ex jugador del París, Kingsley Coman, anotara y así cumplir la ley del ex. Y si, fue todo merito de un Bayern que lo buscó mucho más pero parte de ese gol hay que cargárselo a Donnarumma, era un disparo perfectamente manejable que se le escurrió por debajo del cuerpo. Viendo esto el PSG movió fichas y entra Mbappé, esto le dio otro aire a los franceses, era otro equipo gracias a las corridas de Kylian pero no fueron suficiente, el PSG fue gris, tendrá que remar mucho si quiere darle la vuelta a este cuadro y demostró que más Mbappé dependiente no se puede ser.

Llegamos a la noche de ayer y esta vez estamos en Alemania en donde tanto el Dortmund como el Chelsea nos regalaron un muy buen partido. El Chelsea llegaba con Enzo Fernández, Joao Félix y Mudryk mientras que los dirigidos por Edin Terzić estaban con Bellinghan, Adeyemi quien es una sensación y Haller el cual alegra mucho que esté de vuelta después de su batalla contra el cáncer. Los Blues es otro de esos clubes que están en números rojos este año y es que han ganado UN SOLO partido este 2023 con todo el dineral que se han gastado en fichajes últimamente. En la otra mano el Dortmund está INVICTO este año y van de tercero en la liga a tres puntos del Bayern. Como ven son dos realidades distintas que chocaban, una por salir desesperadamente del pozo y los otros por mantener ese buen ritmo.

Hay que decir que el primer tiempo fue todo de los alemanes, aunque no llegaron mucho si generaron sus oportunidades y el balón estuvo en sus pies, les faltó contundencia pero por lo menos no aburrieron a los fanáticos mientras que el Chelsea se limitaba a poner a correr a Havertz contra el mundo, esto no funcionó y el cero se mantuvo. Unos primeros 45 minutos entretenidos pero sin goles ya nos hablaba de que el marcador estaba siendo un poco injusto. La segunda parte fue otra película, el Chelsea salió modo diablo y trató por todos los medios de encasillar en el área a los alemanes. Un muy buen Joao Félix generando la magia, Ziyech por el lado derecho dándole mucho trabajo a Guerreiro con desbordes y un Enzo Fernandez buscando hacer lo que mejor sabe, filtrar y abrir juego. Era un Chelsea irreconocible, el nivel de ataque y de hambre de gol era impresionante pero la efectividad la tenían en el subsuelo, llegaron demasiado pero se encontraron con una pared de apellido Kobel que no dejó pasar nada.

Como llegaría el gol? - con un contraataque de manual. Después de que el Chelsea estuviera a punto de anotar ocurre un despeje y como resultado el balón cae en los pies de Adeyemi quien desde su propio campo hizo una corrida como de unos 50 metros para dejar botado a Enzo, se dice que todavía el argentino está tratando de darle caza. El manejo por parte del jugador alemán fue exquisito y la definición para también dejar sentado al portero Kepa fue aún mejor. Con este tanto el Dortmund se iba arriba en un partido que para mi lo más justo es que hubiese quedado empatado pero como en este deporte lo que vale es quien hace los goles fueron los alemanes quienes se llevaron el triunfo. Los ingleses pecaron de la falta de gol que están padeciendo este año a pesar de tener un muy buen plantel. Si me preguntan Potter no está haciendo un buen trabajo, algo hay ahí que no está funcionando como se debe, no es posible que vayan de decimos, este era un equipo que hasta hace nada estaba peleando en la zona alta de la tabla.
