Castlevania | One of the best animated series of all times

A few months ago I gave myself a marathon of series and movies that I had already seen, Castlevania was one of those series, I think this was the third time I watch it or the fourth, but I'm sure it's not the second time. I love it, it is one of the best-animated series of all time, Netflix sometimes does good things, and this is one of their best-animated series, there is no doubt about this, and no one in their right mind can get to say otherwise, no one, and if they say it is because they haven't seen it.

There is no easy way to present this series, or much is said, or little is said, very little, so I will try to stay in the middle of that diatribe. Castlevania is going to guide us through a world plagued by hellish monsters that are commanded by Dracula, all because of a murder committed by humans. In this world full of calamity we will meet the last of the Belmont lineage, who belonging to the oldest family of demon hunters tries to do his best to save those he can, at least that is until he meets Sypha and Alucard, then everything changes and they embark on a mission to kill Dracula at any cost.

I've barely had this written and I'm already looking forward to watching it again regardless of the fact that I just recently watched it again. If it were only a good animated series it would not be one of the best, I mean, if only the animation were good it would not be one of the best, but since it is not, and since all its characters are exquisite, sublime, beautiful, orgasmic, incredible, with the ability to fill you with ecstasy; the perfect story, full of action, terror, adventure, magic, blood, love, death, but above all love, can be enjoyed at unknown levels and we can't help it, it becomes a vice from beginning to end and we have to thank Netflix that they will release another Castlevania series, although this time it will be set 300 years after the events that happened in this series.

Hace pocos meses me di un maratón de series y películas que ya había visto, Castlevania fue una de esas series, creo que esta fue la tercera vez que la veo, o la cuarta, pero tengo la seguridad de que no es la segunda vez. La amo, es una de las mejores series animadas de todos los tiempos, Netflix a veces hace cosas buenas, y esta es una de sus mejores series animadas, no hay ninguna duda de esto, y nadie en su sano juicio puede llegar a decir lo contrario, nadie, y si lo dicen es porque no la han visto.

No hay forma de fácil de presentar esta serie, o se dic mucho, o se dice poco, muy poco, así que voy a tratar de quedar en el medio de esa diatriba. Castlevania nos va a guiar por un mundo azotado por los monstruos infernales que están comandados por Drácula, todo a causa de un asesinato cometido por los humanos. En este mundo lleno de calamidad nos encontraremos con el último del linaje de los Belmont, quien perteneciendo a la familia más antigua de cazademonios trata de hacer lo posible por salvar a quienes puede, al menos es así hasta que conoce a Sypha y Alucard, entonces todo cambia y se embarcan en la misión de asesinar a Drácula a cualquier precio.

Apenas llevo esto escrito y ya tengo ganas de volver a verla sin importar que hace poco la haya visto otra vez. Si tan solo fuera una buena serie animada no sería una de las mejores, me explico, si solo la animación fuera buena no sería una de las mejores, pero como no es así, y como todos sus personajes son exquisitos, sublimos, hermosos, orgásmicos, increíbles, con la capacidad de llenarte de éxtasis; la historia perfecta, llena de acción, terror, aventura, magia, sangre, amor, muerte, pero sobre todo amor, se puede disfrutar a niveles desconocidos y no lo podemos evitar, se convierte en un vicio de principio a fin y tenemos que agradecerle a Netflix que sacará otra serie de Castlevania, aunque esta vez será ambientada 300 años después de los hechos ocurridos en esta serie.

Humans are shitty, but every time that decreases, or at least that's what I and many other people want to believe, the beginning of that series is heartbreaking, those first chapters when they make us suffer the facts that made Dracula want to see the world plunged into darkness, terror and depression in which he had always lived, only now he has lost all hope, all love he had lost, and all because of humans, fucking prejudiced humans, misogynistic to horrifying levels, who not only considered women useless, but anything a woman did that was different from what she had been taught, if only what she did made a fool of men if only she looked down on a man, anything like that was reason enough to beat her, even kill her, even consider her a witch just because they felt like it.

I was always pro Dracula, I was for him from the beginning, I don't care that it meant bringing mankind to extinction, better for the world. I'm still pro Dracula, that hasn't changed, the fact that Lisa Tepes had to suffer the cruelty, injustice, the prejudices not only from humans, but from humans who thought they were superior because they belonged to a religion, A religion that was of no use to them because they believed it was a shield against Dracula when it never was, and instead of repenting of their acts and seek to be better as always proclaims, the only thing they did was to wallow in an evil act and that only meant the beginning of their end.

Religion as such is not evil, it never will be, the fact of believing in some superior force does not make you a bad person, not at all, not everyone has the mental stability to not believe in anything and continue living normally and well, the fact of needing and believing in a god does not make you inferior or superior to someone, but the moment you use religion, those beliefs as excuses to try to control the lives of the demos, at that moment religion and the people who profess it go to shit and there is no way to save them, they will forever lose the right to call themselves human beings and will be a living scum that only deserves to suffer eternally. That's one of the reasons why I love this series, it shows religious people in that way, in a very real way, very present in our reality, and there is no way to take away its credibility.

Los humanos somos una mierda, pero cada vez eso disminuye, o al menos eso queremos creer yo y muchas otras personas, el inicio de esa serie es desgarrador, esos primeros capítulos cuando nos hacen sufrir los hechos que hicieron que Drácula quisiera ver el mundo sumido en la oscuridad, el terror y la depresión en la que él habia vivido siempre, solo que ahora ha perdido toda esperanza, todo amor que había perdido, y todo por culpa de los humanos, humanos prejuiciosos de mierda, misóginos a niveles horripilantes, que no solo consideraban a las mujeres inútiles, si no que todo lo que una mujer hiciera que fuera diferente a lo que se le haya enseñado, si tan solo lo que hiciera dejaba en ridículo a los hombres, si tan solo miraba mal a un hombre, cualquier cosa de ese tipo era suficiente razón para golpearla, incluso matarla llegando a considerarla una bruja solo porque les daba la gana.

Siempre fui pro Drácula, estuve a su favor desde un principio, no me importa que eso significara llevar a la humanidad a la extinción, mejor para el mundo, la verdad. Sigo siendo pro Drácula, eso no ha cambiado, el hecho de que Lisa Tepes tuviera que sufrir la crueldad, injusticia, los prejuicios no solo de los humanos, si no de los humanos que se creían superiores por el hecho de pertenecer a una religión, una religión que no les sirvió de nada porque creían que era un escudo contra Drácula cuando obviamente nunca lo fue, y en vez de arrepentirse de sus actos y buscar ser mejores como siempre lo proclama, lo único que hicieron fue regodearse en un acto malvado y eso solo significó el comienzo de su fin.

La religión como tal no es mala, nunca lo será, el hecho de creer en alguna fuerza superior no te hace mala persona, en lo absoluto, no todo el mundo tiene la estabilidad mental como para no creer en nada y seguir viviendo con normalidad y biniestar, el hecho de necesitar y creer en un dios no te hace inferior o superior a alguien, pero en el momento en el que usas a la religión, a esas creencias como excusas para intentar controlar la vida de los demos, en ese momento la religión y las personas que la profesan se van a la mierda y no hay forma alguna de salvarles, por siempre perderán el derecho de llamarse seres humanos y serán una escoria viviente que solo merece sufrir eternamente. Esa es una de las razones por las que amo esta serie, muestra a las personas religiosas de esa forma, de una forma muy real, muy presente en nuestra realidad, y no hay forma alguna de quitarle credibilidad.

Each character in this series is so well constructed that they deserve their post, but I don't think I'll do that, so I'll talk about my favorite characters here. Sypha tops the list completely, I mean, she can control water, air, fire, and electricity at her whim with magic, she is a scholar with a great amount of knowledge about whatever, she helps people even against their will sometimes, she believes that humans are good by nature and they just choose to be bad, she suffers a lot for that, too much, we will see it many times in the series, too many times, and no matter what we will be like her, believing that people are good just because they are.

Isaac is my second favorite character, his story is one of the most incredible things that can exist, all that suffering, all that self-flagellation, all that torture by his kind, just, just to want his end and thus achieve his union with Dracula, his friendship is one of the best things in the series, and the fact that Isaac had a more leading role in the last season just makes everything even better, you don't know, or maybe you do if you already watched the series, but you don't know how extremely orgasmic Isaac's character becomes when he starts following his desires for the first time in his life and the result that comes out of it, fuck, I never get tired of watching his conversations with every person that crosses his path.

I refuse to talk about another character, I would never finish, and I want to finish this already, but I will just say that Alucard is a beautiful, beautiful little thing who deserves all the love in the world, it wasn't enough to have had to do one of the hardest things in his life, if not that when he comes back to find some sort of comfort again, it is taken from his hands in the worst way and there is nothing I could do to stop it, I love him, I suffer. Trevor Belmont is a weird thing, his character and people like him I don't entirely like, but I can stand him, he's enjoyable, and I still enjoy when Sypha freezes his beer when he says a cold beer is better than sex.

Cada personaje de esta serie está tan bien construido que se merece su propia publicación, pero no creo hacerlo, así que hablaré de mis personajes favoritos aquí. Sypha encabeza la lista por completo, o sea, puede controlar el agua, el aire, el fuego, la electricidad a su antojo con la magia, es una erudita con una gran cantidad de conocimiento sobre lo que sea, ayuda a las personas hasta en contra de su voluntad a veces, cree que los humanos son buenos por naturaleza y que solo deciden ser malos, sufre mucho por eso, demasiado, lo veremos mucha veces en la serie, demasiadas veces, y sin importar qué seremos como ella, creyendo que la gente es buena solo porque sí.

Isaac es mi segundo personaje favorito, su historia es una de las cosas más increíbles que pueden existir, todo ese sufrimiento, toda esa autoflagelación, toda esa tortura por parte de su propia especie, solo, tan solo para querer su propia fin y así lograr su unión con Drácula, su amistad es una de las mejores cosas de la serie, y el hecho de que Isaac tuviera un rol más protagónico en la última temporada solo mejora todo más aún, no saben, o quizás sí lo saben si ya vieron la serie, pero no saben lo extremadamente orgásmico que se vuelve el personaje de Isaac al comenzar a seguirsus propios deseos por primera vez en su vida y el resultado que sale de ahí, joder, no me canso de ver nunca sus conversaciones con toda aquella persona que se cruza en su camino.

Me niego a hablar de otro personaje, nunca terminaría, y quiero terminar esto ya, pero solo diré que Alucard es una cosita bella y hermosa que merece todo el amor del mundo, no fue suficiente haber tenido que hacer una de las cosas más difíciles en su vida, si no que cuando vuelve a encontrar de nuevo una especia de conforte, se le es arrebatado de sus manos de la peor manera y no hay nada que pudiera hacer para evitarlo, lo amo, sufro. Trevor Belmont es una cosa rara, su personaje y las personas que son como él no me caen del todo bien, pero lo soporto, es disfrutable, y aún disfruto cuando Sypha le congela la cerveza cuando él dice que una cerveza fría es mejor que el sexo.

I want to mention Carmilla, Lenore, Morana, and Striga, but I don't know what to say about them, I just love the lesbian relationship between Morana and Striga, it's one of my favorite things in the series, I love the way Lenore gets everything she wants, or what she's asked or expected to get just for being her, and I have so, so much respect for Carmilla, she's another one of my favorite characters, her ambition, her bloodlust, literally, her vision of the future, her lust for power, and lastly her insanity, fuck, Carmilla deserves the respect and fear she inspires, there's no doubt about that.

As the last character, I will only mention Dracula, and it is very easy to judge Dracula but not to put yourself in his place, I mean, not only did they kill his wife, the mother of his child, they accused her of sorcery when she was only helping the people of Wallachia, and her death was a horrible thing, who, having the power, would not declare war on the world and seek the extinction of the species that did that to his partner? No, it is not something justifiable and much less to be defended, I understand, but you also understand the feelings of someone who lost the only good thing he had in life, it is not for less, all people live the grief in different ways, and that was the way Dracula was trying to overcome everything that happened, stop making him look like a bad vampire just because he reacted with violence when he was not the one who attacked first.

I don't leave you trailer, I don't leave you the best fight scenes, I don't leave you Sypha being a badass doing magic and facing the dead, monsters, vampires, and/or humans, I don't leave you the saddest scenes or the most philosophical ones that are in the series, so I leave you just the opening title that is perfect by itself, it reminds me a lot of the ones from Westworld, and that only makes me love it more. Bye.

Quiero mencionar a Carmilla, Lenore, Morana y Striga, pero no sé qué decir de ellas, solo que amo la relación lésbica entre Morana y Striga, es de mis cosas favoritas en la serie, amo la forma en que Lenore consigue todo lo que quiere, o lo que le piden o esperan que consiga solo por ser ella, y le tengo mucho, muchísimo respeto a Carmilla, es otro de mis personajes favoritos, su ambición, su sed de sangre, literal, su visión del futuro, su ansia por el poder, y por último su locura, joder, Carmilla merece el respeto y el miedo que inspira, de eso no hay duda.

Como último personaje solo mencionaré a Drácula, y es que es muy fácil juzgar a Drácula pero no ponerse en su lugar, o sea, no solo mataron a su esposa, la madre de su hijo, la acusaron de hechicería cuando ella solo estaba ayudando a las personas de Wallachia, y su muerte fue una cosa horrible, ¿quién, teniendo el poder, no le declararía la guerra al mundo y buscaría la extinción de la especie que le hizo eso a su pareja? No, no es algo justificable y mucho menos que se deba defender, lo entiendo, pero entiendan ustedes también el sentir de alguien que perdió lo único bueno que tenía en la vida, no es para menos, todas las personas viven el duelo en formas diferentes, y esa fue la forma en que Drácula estaba tratando de superar todo lo sucedido, dejen de hacerlo ver como un mal vampiro solo porque reaccionó con violencia cuando él no fue quien atacó primero.

No les dejo trailer, no les dejo las mejores escenas de pelea, no les dejo a Sypha siendo una badass haciendo magia y enfrentándose a muertos, monstruos, vampiros y/o humanos, no les dejo las escenas más tristes o las más filosóficas que hay en la serie, por eso les dejo tan solo el opening title que es perfecto por si solo, me recuerda mucho a los de Westworld, y eso solo hace que me encanten más.
