Hello everybody on Hive and especially the PukoMundo Community! My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from the back seat of my car in the office parking lot (AGAIN! Hahaha) in Cape Town, South Africa! This is Week 58 of “The Singing Voice” or “La Voz Cantante” challenge!

So, the aim of the game is to play a rock cover, or perhaps a cover of a genre that led to the formation of rock music.

Let’s do some early 90’s alternative rock! In 1993, the band “James” released a song called “Laid”. Perhaps you know it from the “American Pie” movie? Whenever I bring it out at the jam around the braai (barbeque) fire, people love to attempt the high note that ends each verse, which I will try to demonstrate for you! Another thing that made the song distinctive was that the drummer sped up and gave driving rhythm to the end of the verse, which I unfortunately can’t demonstrate for you… so please be sure to check the original as well!

¡Hagamos un poco de rock alternativo de principios de los 90! En 1993, la banda "James" lanzó una canción llamada "Laid". ¿Quizás lo conoces por la película "American Pie"? Cada vez que lo saco en el atasco alrededor del fuego braai (barbacoa), a la gente le encanta intentar la nota alta que termina cada verso, ¡lo cual trataré de demostrarte!
