Today, I want to share my latest fan art.
I decided to create Forest Male Healer holding Miumiu🐈
Miumiu is the evolve form of Miu😼

Let's dive in to the process🎨

Art Process

First, I did a rough sketch of the pose that I want to make. It's just a straight up pose holding Miumiu.

Then I do the clean line art. Like a tracing paper I add another layer on top of the rough sketch while decreasing the opacity of the rough sketch. That way I could do better line quality on top of it.

Here is how I do it.👇 I also rotate the canvass much that's why it has a lot of movements in the screen recording.

In here, I added the base color of every parts of the character.
Base colors are basically flat colors. The main color of the object.

In the next image, I add the shadow and set it to multiply blending mode.

Here is the base color of the illustration.👇 I haven't recorded the rest of the steps maybe next time.

I add another set of shadows still in multiply blending mode but in another layer on top of the first shadow.

I add the highlights. I setup two highlights first it is set to overlay mode. Choose color white and brush in the parts where light hits. Lower the opacity. Add another layer just set to normal mode and brush in another white highlight where strong light hits just like in hair and eyes.

Final Artwork

Final step to my process is adjusting the color balance. I lean towards reds for midtones, shadows and highlights. And add an abstract background for final touch.😁
