In mommy's truck ...

Buying fresh shrimp when I walk along the coast of my country, shooting with my husband in our van.

We need to support the local economy.

I always ask God to keep the capacity for wonder intact in me, because whenever I walk on the road, moving from one place to another, from one city to another, between municipalities even within my city, I do a market, because I am one of those who supports the merchants, the economy of the locals.

I do stop a thousand times, whenever I travel I do it with a champagne, I talk to people, I take cash or I make transfers, but I always buy.

Since I was a child, I was raised by my loving parents with the love of the road, to stop at every corner to see what they sold, to taste, to know, to eat real, fresh, direct food from the people and with the human warmth of the people, their culture and folklore of the village, it is a learning for life that is invaluable.

I remember many years ago I went with my mom to buy fresh shrimp in a place on the coast in my country, she bought like 7 kilos because there was an important family celebration, and she wanted to show off with her garlic shrimp yummmm my favorites, mommy put them in the cellar, but she left the valve of the cellar open without realizing it, and that mommy's truck smelled like shrimp piche for months 🤣, it was horrible, but still mommy to not look bad with the guests had to buy them again at the fishmonger near home.

It is worth getting to know the people, traveling is going slowly, detouring along sometimes precarious roads, and when you reach the villages on the coast, you can see the sea, and the signs on the houses that say "shrimp and fish for sale" and when you ask someone always has to sell and if you have run out, they tell you where there is.

It is quite a detail to talk to this local informal economy, because they talk, they are humble, simple people and very attentive to the outsiders of their village. And the best of all is when the shrimp are prepared at my house, telling stories on the way.

Sometimes I am the one who stays excited, watching someone who can walk alone leave and sometimes I am the one who returns to embrace with gratitude the one who taught me to walk.

I wish everyone who reads me this day health, joy and good mood, the rest is being built along the way. From my own experience, I still do this every day.
