Sundays at home | making melon and milk dessert

Happy Sunday, dear Hivers! Like most Sundays, I always sleep in during the morning until brunch time to recover from lack of sleep on weekdays. Upon waking up, I make myself a cup of hot coffee for breakfast. To complement my strong brewed coffee, I had some pastry my parents brought from a recent trip to Liloan City, a 2 hour travel from where we live. Torta and ensaimada are some of their delicacies. I love both!

While watching this photo from my gallery, the torta looks like a rotated smiley face. I could've adjust the plating, had I noticed this earlier. Either way, it taste really good!

Anyways, my parents also brought some fresh melons from the market because my mom craved for them. My task is to mixed the melon with evaporated milk to serve as our dessert.

For making this dessert, we only need to simple ingredients- fresh melons and evaporated milk. Scrape the melons into strips and add the milk in a bowl. Mix well and enjoy! This dessert is best when cold.

This recipe is originally my mom's. I remember during my childhood years, she would often make this for us. At first, I didn't understand the bitter-y aftertaste that comes with every bite. But later on, it became an acquired taste to me already.

Aside from making dessert, I also did some laundry, deep cleaning, and grocery shopping today. Maybe this is the kind of active rest I needed to prepare myself to work again tomorrow.

How's your sunday, my dear Hivers? I hope you had a much needed rest. Don't forget to take care of yourself as well as your love ones.

That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!

Sending some love and light

With love, Jane

That torta looks so bago and mabangk, perfect for breakfast. And that creamy Melon Juice, luhhh, nakakatakam. Mejo matagak na rin last inom and kain ko ng melon. I think this would be a good drink to have for birthday celebration no? Maga bday na ang Mommy F at ang Mama, I think bagay talaga then paired with pizza. Uwu
