My Joy | A Childhood Favorite
Happy Sunday, my dear hivers! Today's feature is my childhood favorite restaurant My Joy. Have you ever have that go to restaurant as a kid where your parents order the same thing in each visit? My Joy is that restaurant for me. My mom's usual order is their taco and mango shake for snacks. Sometimes, we also order their burger and Bangus meal. My dear hivers, their tacos are the best i've ever tasted. There's just something about the sauce that really tastes unique. During my recent visit, I also tried their graham halo-halo and im not disappointed at all.
Before Mcdonalds and Burger King, there was My Joy, previously known as MacJoy. I'm not sure if many people have remembered this restaurant, or do they even enjoy dining here, because my peers never recommended this restaurant. Maybe people find their menu quite pricey for a fast food restaurant. But this is better than Kenny Rogers, in my opinion.
The design of the new branch is nothing compared to the old one. The modern aesthetic brings about a tropical vibe whereas the old aesthetic was just a simple pink and white stripes. It must be their way of being innovative in this competitive market. Although i'm not sure if they've already expanded outside Cebu.
This is their Ayala Central Bloc branch, a relatively new branch. Despite not being with my mom in this recent visit, i will always remember my childhood every time i dine in My Joy. We used to visit their oldest branch in Colon for a quick snack after school.
What are some of your fond memories in My Joy? I'd love to hear about them in the comment section below.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
Love, jane
l love the vibe of the place. It's looks cozy that I first though it's more like a cafe.
It does feel like a cafe because of the tropical aesthetics. But back in the day, i remember My Joy as a fastfood restaurant.
