Mid Summer Cafe | Shaved Ice Dessert
Happy Thursday, Hivers! I'm excited for the weekend ahead as it feels like a long work week already. When stressed out, my go-to will always be its backward counterpart- desserts.
Last week, my sister and cousin went for a girls night out, wholesome version haha. (See: Food Trip | Buy 1 Take 1 Steak at Atmosphere Restaurant) We then headed to Mid Summer Cafe right beside the steak house for dessert.
This Cafe offers Taiwanese Shaved Ice desserts in a bowl similar to Korea's Sulbing dessert. We couldn't agree with each other on what to order so we asked the barista for their best seller, Mango Milk, and ordered it. Thankfully, all three of us like mango. Our order came with a cup of cold green tea and half a cup of condensed milk as sweetener.
Verdict: The shaved ice taste good, not to sweet despite the condensed milk. However, the mangoes no longer taste fresh, in my opinion. So I'll give this a rate of 4/5.
The aesthetic of this cafe is very romantic with a mixture of yellow and gold tones. Plus, the atmosphere is very intimate because of the soft background music and comfortable silence.
We stayed in the cafe for an hour catching up with our cousin and talk about travels. I honestly haven't been to many places so I hope all three of us could travel outside the city, someday. But for now, I'm not in a rush to experience all these adventures. "One at a time" is what i always remind myself; to always be grateful for the little things and enjoy my day to day activities.
We finished our dessert 15 minutes before the cafe closes, just in time for us to go home too.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
Love, Jane
