Hong Kong Famous Street Food | Eat Fresh
Chinese cuisine is one of the most famous and common cuisine in the world. But did you know that there emerge a specific cuisine for different parts of mainland China? Today's feature is Cantonese cuisine. Eat Fresh is a restaurant that serves famous Hong Kong street foods. The aesthetic of the restaurant truly feels like diners traveled to Hong Kong.
A Buddha altar is the first thing you will see upon entering the restaurant. This is a traditional altar with a very unique offerings- a can of beer.
The metallic roll up doors reminds me of Chungking Express, a Hong Kong classic movie.
We then look for a seat since there were a lot of diners in this particular day. Good thing they have more space in the second floor.
For our orders, the friendly staff guided us on what their best sellers are, and serving sizes. We got their famous original laksa, pork siomai, pork rice bowl, and hakaw.
I enjoyed the pork rice bowl as it has salted egg, peanuts and of course bokchoy- the famous side dish all over Hong Kong and Taiwan.
The tastes of their siomai feels like dimsum which is best enjoyed with siomai sauce.
I was expecting their hakaw to have some soup inside the wrap, which I often see in social media. But this hakaw has no soup. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed it.
We didn't expect the Laksa to be a little spicy since we ordered the non-spicy variant. The serving size of this laksa is huge too.
Overall, I enjoyed the food and my great company. This restaurant offers not just meals but also the experience of eating in an authentic Cantonese restaurant.
