Gala Night | How I Turned A Dreading Event Into A Memorable Experience
"Dear LizzyJane, you are cordially invited to the Gala Night for Certified Management Accountants at Cebu Parklane International Hotel this June 11, 2024. We hope to see you there. Dinner is on us!"
I received an email invitation from my Alma Mater inviting us to celebrate our passing of Certified Management Accounting Licensure exam.
I received an email invitation from my Alma Mater inviting us to celebrate our passing of Certified Management Accounting Licensure exam. Don't get me wrong, part of me was excited because its been a while since i graduated college. The other part of me dreaded to go to events like these (or reunions) because im not so good with small talks. But what rung the bell is the fact that the event is FREE. All I have to do is show up, enjoy the event, and eat dinner. So despite having our usual monthly closing of books at work (accountant problems), i decided to register in the event. Plus, i miss wearing gowns too.
I arrived at the event with two of my college friends. "Please proceed to the 2nd floor, first room from the left." The friendly staffed instructed. We were all nervous as we didn't know what to expect from this event. It feels nostalgic reminiscing old moments and getting updates about work and personal lives of our batchmates. One of them is now a Property Manager at Ayala Lands, while the other one is working at a big corporation and is doing well at her job. I can't help but be proud of their accomplishments as much as my own.
Upon reaching the ballroom, we immediately registered our names and looked for vacant seats. We felt ecstatic to see some of our batchmates and professors in the event too. One of our professor is even part of the CMA exam passers.
Once we've settled down to our seats, we sneaked in to the photobooth outside and take some photos before the event officially started. We took 9 poses all in all, for us to have 1 copy each.
We went back inside the ballroom as the program is about to start. The President of the organization delivered his speech as the opening remarks, induction of new officers, and the rest of the program followed. Each of us were also awarded a certificate on stage.
Finally, dinner was served!
A few moments later, the waiter served a bottle of white wine for each table and the hosts then proposed a toast! A celebration wouldn't be complete without a toast, i thought to myself.
The night ended filled with wonderful memories and i'm very grateful i attended this event. Can't wait to see what's in store for us, as we continue to grow and spread our wings.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some hugs and kisses
Love, Jane
Events like this makes me a bit excited too because we have a reason to dress up and doll up a bit. 🤭
Anyway, congratulations on passing the licensure exam! All your hard work really paid off. 🥳
Thank youu, sammy😊
Everything is okay but you ended this post with food photographs and it's the cruel way to end a post. It's already late night here and I became hungry to see food photographs. Now I need to go to sleep with hungry stomach. If something happens to me, you will be responsible for it. 🤣. !LOL
