Back To School Activity

Happy Sunday, dear Hivers! As the opening of the school year is fast approaching, we took part of the annual Brigada Eskwela, a maintenance program led by the Department of Education, as one of our corporate social responsibility activities. This year, we visited Lagtang National High School at Talisay City, Cebu.

Our call time was at 7am in the office. Before heading to the school, we first had Jollibee for breakfast to keep us energize since our physical labor will be needed heavily later.

Upon arrival, the school prepared a mini program for the appreciation and acceptance of our kind donations -paints, a speaker, some tables, as well as cash donation for the students.


Finally, we were instructed on what to do for today's activity- repainting the classroom walls. 4 volunteers are assigned per floor of the building to repaint while the remaining volunteers clean the insides of the classrooms. I chose the role of the painter.


My colleagues and I were assigned in the 2nd floor of the building. While painting they start to play lively music for us which makes the activity all the more enjoyable. The organizers also provided some Gatorade (energy drink) for us since its a laborious activity.


It has been some time since i stepped in a school building. I cant help but reminisce my school days. Has it been that long already? I missed all the fun times we had at school.


Time flies so fast and its now lunch time. The school prepared food for us including a kilo of lechon from Talisay.


As a hungry woman, here's my plate of food haha :)

The activity ended after lunch and we head back to the office to go home.
