Skyranch Tagaytay Memories (#ShortVacayInPh)
June 11, 2023
Back in 2019 before the pandemic caused chaos in this world and stopped everyone from flying overseas, I was given a short vacation to my country after my first contract ended. Due to the short number of days which was only two weeks, and the need to process something in Manila, it left me no choice but to stay in the city. But I was hoping for another vacation the year after. Unfortunately, the pandemic worsen that even lasted for four years, and my stay abroad was unexpectedly extended as well.
My short stay in Manila gave me a chance to visit some places I had never been to. Despite the fact that I lived in the metro for six months prior to working abroad, I never visited known tourist destinations near the metropolitan. Although two weeks was quite short, I made sure to make it worthwhile.
I contacted my brother, who was already living in Manila to tag along in my travel plans just to make my days not so boring. Besides, I never traveled solo to places outside of Metro Manila yet. But since he was working on weekdays, our only time to travel together was on Sundays. We visited the Skyranch which is one of the popular destinations in the Luzon area, and it was my first time in Tagaytay. By that time, I wasn't into blogging yet, so photographing the details of my travel journey wasn't my forte as well.
The main reason why I chose this place is because I saw a discounted package online that includes all the rides, except the horseback riding. If my memory serves me right it cost me more or less than 500 per head. I wasn't familiar well with the transportation going out of Metro Manila, so the early morning plan became the afternoon. Due to the difficulty of finding the right terminal, we arrived in Tagaytay at exactly noon, and we had our lunch first before heading in.
Pardon me for the not-so-good resolution of my photos as these were taken and imported from my old phone.
Getting to Tagaytay from Manila took us more than an hour by bus, and the weather there is relatively different and cooler given the mountainous location. Skyranch is one of the popular tourist destinations in the province. It is an amusement park that consists of different rides for kids and adults.
Since it was 2019 when I visited the place, the fare and admission fee might be different now. If you want to know more about Skyranch, you can visit this article for the tickets and other info. Simply click here.
We looked for a place to have our lunch before lining up at the entranceway. We spotted Leslie's restaurant, took a photo of it, sent it to my mom, and joked at her saying, "Hey Mama, you have a restaurant here." If you get the joke, then you know what I was up to.
We stayed for a while at the entrance hall and decided where to go first. It was a great decision to bring my brother as it was also his first time visiting Tagaytay. He looked truly excited upon seeing the place.
There seemed like a comedy happened before we literally had fun in this place. The horseback riding area was just located near the entranceway and I thought of riding on a horse first since I initially thought that our ticket include the entry pass for horseback riding. I was too excited that I immediately hopped into the back of the horse and told my brother to take a photo of me.
However, before doing so, the staff asked for our ticket which surprised me. It was when I find out that our ticket doesn't include the entry pass for the horseback riding. I was too disappointed but laughing at the same time at what happened. The staff advised me to get off the horse after I had just been on it for a short while, lol. It was truly a fun experience.
We proceeded and came across this Transformer mascot on our way to the next ride. The kids looked adorable when approaching him. He truly caught the attention of anyone passing by.
We just rode on a few rides because it was already afternoon and we didn't have enough time to try all rides as we needed to return to Metro Manila before dusk. When my brother and I rode on the enormous Ferris wheel, it appeared to be the first time for him because he was grinning like a child. The carousel came next, and I also enjoyed like a kid.
I still remember we screamed out loud while riding the Super Viking. That exhilarating feeling when the boat is dropping down abruptly, and I felt like my intestines will be thrown out, lol. I am certain I recorded a video of myself screaming so loudly here but I couldn't find it 🥲. I also tried the kiddie train even though I wasn't a kid anymore, lol. Why not? It was fun and the train was cute.
The Drop Tower was just so short for me and I didn't feel the thrill I was expecting. But I can't deny the fact that I felt nervous at the beginning since it was my first time riding such. I even made sure the lock was secured as I don't want to fall from atop, lol.
Then I forgot the rest of the rides we tried, lol. Another reason why I visited Tagaytay was to try the popular Bulalo or Filipino Beef Marrow Stew. However, since I wasn't familiar with the place and I don't want to get lost with my brother, we opted to go back home at five in the afternoon. We bought boxes of buko pie (young coconut pie) instead and went back to our respective places.
The next time, I'll share the other attraction I visited during my short vacation in the Philippines.
Thanks for stopping by.

Yup I did with my brother.. I wish I'll have a longer vacation next time.
A great time you had indeed. Skyranch has some cool rides that you have highlighted. It's great that your brother accompanied you and you both got to experience this. The Storm Trooper is a Star Wars mascot not a Transformer 🤫 😊. Take care enjoy what's left of your evening :)
Oh, you reminded me of that lol.. I was thinking in what movie I saw it 🤣.. Transformer was the first thing that came to mind since it's all about robots, lol... I had fun, but the day was short for me since we needed to go back to the Metro...

Ang taas ng ferris wheel nila, I bet the view overlooking from above is super nice. Looking at your post, made me remember my drop tower experience in EK, mixed emotion na nakakatakot and exciting, parang nahuhulog kaluluwa mo every drop 😅
Haha.. Medyo ganun.. Pero hndi naman ganun kataasan.. Mas exciting yung dto sa HK na natry ko..parang maluluwa intestines ko every drop 🤣

I love the name SKYRANCH, it sounds extraordinary and judging by the pictures, I can tell the place is a paradise.
The drop tower is scary and I doubt if my heart won't pop out due to my fear of heights.
Thanks for sharing.
I'm not afraid of heights, but of falling haha.. So far, the drop tower didn't fear me at all..it was even a funny experience..

You can tell it was a very, very fun afternoon
No doubt that you enjoyed it a lot there and it should be. You are looking like a free bird and enjoying those moments. At some point, I felt like you were a kid😅 and doing all the childish acts there. It feels like you are carefree and there is nothing to worry about.
I think you will remember those moments all the time because you enjoyed those moments just before the pandemic situation.
!PIZZA
Of course, I will always remember those moments, especially since I posted them here 😁..
I'm always like a kid when in an theme or amusement park
From the photographs, it seems that you enjoyed every ride very much. @jane1289
Your post is very nice.
