Exploring Arendelle - The World Of Frozen (#FamilyVacation Day 4.3)
6 September 2024
This may sound familiar to you.
A new attraction in Hong Kong Disneyland opened last year, particularly a month before Christmas, with a theme from the film Frozen. As one of the fans of Elsa, Anna, and the Frozen movie, I also wanted to see and explore the new attraction. Who doesn't want to see and explore Arendelle when we actually watch the Frozen movies? It is not just kids who love this movie; people from all walks of life do. And, of course, if there's Elsa and Anna, there's Arendelle, too.
There is so much to see and do at Disneyland Hong Kong. Everyone who visits the place will undoubtedly enjoy it. It's a worthy adventure. One day is truly not enough to explore all the spots and try all the rides. Our fourth day of #FamilyVacation started on Main Street, USA, and we watched the Disney & Pixar Parade, followed by the Jungle River Cruise. My niece enjoyed it the most. You can check out the blogs below to read our experiences.
Main Street USA Disney & Pixar Parade
After our river cruise adventure, we headed to find Arandelle - The World of Frozen. The location seemed familiar to me. It was probably the former location of It's A Small World. I am unsure, though. However, I'm certain that Disney removed a location from their map to construct the World of Frozen. The last time I visited Disneyland, I enjoyed the musical ride at the former 'It's A Small World' featuring displays symbolizing different cultures and showcasing the costumes and languages of places around the world.
When we entered The World of Frozen, the crowd welcomed us warmly. We felt as though we had journeyed to a different location, somewhere in Europe. It is, indeed, a replica of Arandelle from the film Frozen. We walked with the crowd, carrying a sense of awe and wonder. We were more than excited to explore Frozen, hoping to see the real version of Elsa and Anna before our eyes, as well as the adorable Olaf, Sven, and Kristoff.
Houses in the World of Frozen have distinctive architectural styles. Those houses aren't just wallpapers; they are real. The wooden houses have ornate woodwork and color schemes, like those in the Frozen film. Cafes and souvenir shops occupy them, and visitors are free to wander. The entire place truly gives a magical fairytale vibe in a traditional Nordic setting. It is so charming and aesthetic.
While exploring Arandelle, I felt like I stepped into a fairytale winter wonderland. And I was like a kid, excited and hoping to see the characters in Frozen. The beautiful castle of Elsa was just within reach. I felt like I walked right into the world of Frozen, and the movie came to life. I imagined a snowy backdrop and crispy air with all the characters in the picture. The only disappointing part of the day was the hot weather. I can imagine Olaf melting at this point because the weather was too hot, lol. I was even hoping for Elsa to come out and do her magic to make the place somewhat snowy to ease the heat we felt. The kid was a bit irritated already.
Nordic wooden boats in traditional styles aren't sailing and are only docked by the lake. I wish they were functional. They should have added that ride, too, for a more amazing experience in the World of Frozen.
After wandering around the lake, we headed to Wandering Oaken to try the sliding sleigh ride. Those are reindeer Sven's sleighs. Who doesn't like this character from the film Frozen? I bet you guys were also captured by his wittyness and charm.
My little niece had already fallen asleep in her stroller by this time; thus, one of us had to keep an eye on her. But since the ride was thrilling and fast, I decided to bring my sister with me and let my mom look after her granddaughter. Besides, she can't take such a ride because she has high blood pressure and heart disease. A problem might arise if she gets thrilled while on the roller coaster.
It looks like this. I thought it would last a few minutes, but to our surprise, it was just very quick, around a minute's ride. Our queueing time lasted for almost half an hour, but our ride was only a minute. Such a joke. Our excitement was shortened. Nevertheless, it was fun. My sister and I just laughed at it.
From Wandering Oaken, we returned to Arendelle's center spot to see the main attraction at the World of Frozen. At the end of the alley is the Clock Tower which stands magically like Frozen ever after. On the balcony of the tower are Elsa and Anna's miniatures. I invited my mother this time to join me, exploring whatever was inside the clock tower. My sister was left behind to look after her sleeping child.
We ventured inside the clock tower and stumbled upon a long queue of visitors wanting to see or try whatever attraction or ride was inside the tower. I was unaware of the attraction inside the clock tower and only thought there was a Frozen show in a small theatre or something. After the long queue, we ended up in a canal with sliding boats. We learned that there's another exciting ride in the World of Frozen. A new adventure awaited inside the tower, which led us to Elsa's Ice Castle. It's hidden beneath the snow-capped mountain. It's what they call, "Frozen Ever After."
Here's a glimpse of what you can see while on the ride. I actually want to upload the short video I took during our ride on 3Speak one of these days. It's more like a storytelling ride featuring the characters of Frozen and some scenes from the film.
A souvenir shop was at the end of the ride. Frozen collectibles are too adorable but pricey. It's reasonable; it's Disneyland.
After some adventures, we needed to leave Arendelle, although we wanted to stay longer. The day was about to end, and we still wanted to see other attractions. We also planned to watch the evening show.
This place is truly unforgettable.
Our trip to Arendelle came to a conclusion with exciting and magical encounters. We enjoyed the rides, especially the storytelling ride at Frozen Ever After and the exciting ride at Wandering Oaken's sliding sleigh. The new attraction in Disneyland Hong Kong allowed us to immerse ourselves in Frozen Wonderland. Though not real, it was definitely a worthy experience and an amazing encounter with Frozen characters.
Thanks for your time.
