Hive Open Mic Week#215-Original Composition
Hello Hiveans!!!
This is Hive Open Mic Week 215. The theme for this week is Waves and this theme was given by another Hivean @maitt87
For this week's challenge, I did an original composition titled “You Can't Stop My Shine”.
The lyrics has a fusion of the Nigerian Pidgin English as a spice.
Waves which is the theme of this week’s challenge can signify a couple of things to different people.
We can see waves from the water body point of view, like the wave of an ocean.
However, relating this to human existence can mean a lot more. A wave signifies movement, there is a wave that naturally propels you to a destination like a canoe without a paddle, the waves of the water will still take the canoe somewhere even without paddling.
Relating this to life, sometimes we can have turbulent waves in some aspects of our lives, it could be a financial wave, where our account balance doesn't seem to be “balancing”, and we can't explain the bills coming left, right, and center.
It could also be some chaotic waves in our relationships, some waves have even divided the canoe in halves or to the extent we can’t tell where our relationships are headed because it is becoming “what we ordered vs what we got “.
Waves are inevitable in life, just like the waves in the ocean, only a dead sea without aquatic creatures is without waves.
In life we encounter waves as well, what can help us navigate through the waters is a paddle, for a ship is a rudder. This can come in the form of reading books or seeking knowledge about the issues we face.
For financial waves, getting to save from whatever money that comes in, and monitoring inflow and outflow which determines your cash flow. Also, cutting down on frivolous spending and expensive lifestyles.
For relationships, more communication with your partner, reading books and adjusting to meet each partner’s needs or complaints.
The good thing is a wave can be positive, it can move from bad to good, sad to happy, bitter to sweet.
I have moved from being a dependent person to an independent person as an only son, with two elder sisters who would do anything to make sure their younger brother is always good. It was a sloppy wave but I had to paddle through to conquer it.
As an independent man, my elder sisters now depend on me for some things and I am happy to be of assistance.
In conclusion remember, come rain come shine, you’ll beat your waves and paddle your canoe successfully to your expected shore.
(VERSE)
Shey you wan run pass 50 Buggati
At once shey you fit enter 20 Maserati
You and I know this life is turn by turn
One plus one equals two
You n I, then life is good
Come rain come shine
In summer and winter
The waves doesn't sleep
The ocean never dries
(Hook)
Ain't nobody stop my wave
Can't nobody stop my shine eh eh
Ain't nobody reach my pace
Cos na me win the race
Till we catch up
Peace ✌️
