Travelling to Japan
After graduating from high school, my first travel destination as an adult was Japan, which is popular among Koreans!
It has been 3 years since I left.
I will try to be as specific as I can remember.
At that time, I didn't know anything about photography, so I think I took a rough photo.
Then, all the photos were basically edited and the videos went through the original cut editing process.
I also brought a screenshot from my Instagram story.
Thursday, January 31, 2012.
The first day of the long-awaited trip to Japan has begun.
My home is Pohang, so unless you're going as far away as Europe or North America, I'm not going to go as far away as Pohang.
Use the nearby Gimhae and Daegu airports.
This time I was departing from Gimhae airport after a long time since the mission trip to Russia I went on HIS in 2016.
Even at this moment of writing, I am looking forward to going on a trip.
Since I was young, I have travelled abroad frequently, so I have taken countless flights.
The journey to board a plane is always exciting.
Before leaving the country, I try to eat as much as possible, imagining the food I will eat when I arrive at my destination.
However, there was still some time left before check-in and I was so hungry that I ended up eating naengmyeon.
I remember my parents eating stew.
He was picky about food, so he said it tasted perfect.
He was in a good mood and it tasted great.
After flying Jin Air for about 2 hours and 30 minutes, we finally arrived at Kansai International Airport.
The weather seems to have been a bit cloudy, but I am not sure.
Since I was young I have been to several airports in various cities such as Los Angeles, Mexico City, New York and Houston.
The airport of a new travel destination always seems to greet me.
I think this photo was taken on the way to take the airport train from Kansai International Airport to Kyoto Station.
At the time I took a photo with the camera inside the app to upload it only to Instagram stories, but did you think it would be used like this?
At the time, I was very interested in Japan, like animation and lo-fi music, so even ordinary streets were full of atmosphere.
My first Hello Kitty train!
As a country developed in animation, it was often seen that the characters were drawn on the trains.
As I was planning to spend the first two days of my 4-night, 5-day itinerary in Kyoto, I went to get my luggage and boarded the train immediately.
It was my first time visiting, so I got lost on the way, but with the help of the station staff, I boarded the train safely.
I like trains as much as I like planes.
I have often seen Japan's railway sensibility through animation, but experiencing it made me feel different.
The sound of the train running, the sound of raindrops hitting the window.
And the sound of people talking.
I stared at the cityscape outside the window.
There were especially many tourists that day, so I stood for more than 30 minutes of the 50 minutes.
I had no choice but to zoom in and take a picture.
Finally I arrived at Kyoto station!
Now I realised that the journey had begun in earnest.
I have been to many airports in my life.
It was the second time I had taken a train since I went to Russia in 2016.
Besides, everything in Russia was much bigger than Korea, maybe because the land is huge.
During the high school eulogy team, the teacher in charge asked me to think of a word that best expresses me among the words that begin with the same alphabet as my name.
I thought of 'clever'.
Since then, it became my favourite word.
I couldn't imagine seeing this word in a ramen restaurant during a trip abroad, so I took a picture of it out of curiosity.
This word means knowledgeable and clever.
If you like this word, my Instagram ID is also ' savvysj
We stayed at the Almont Hotel Kyoto.
The room was very clean and the service was great.
The house slippers reminded me of the front of high heels.
There is also a public toilet in the hotel, so every time we return to the accommodation, we end the day in the toilet.
Also, it was a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station and there was a convenience store right in front.
The price is reasonable, so it is no exaggeration to say that it was the king of value for money among the hotels I have stayed in so far.
Our first meal in Japan was at a sushi restaurant called Tomisen near our accommodation.
I really like sushi, so I was very curious about how sushi would taste in Japan.
I tried many different types besides what you see in the picture.
Especially that egg sushi was jintobaegi.
Happiness is taking lots of pictures and eating lots of food while travelling!
After lunch, I stopped at a convenience store to buy something to eat for dessert, packed it up and returned to my accommodation.
If you eat a snack late at night, you will obviously have a lot of bloating the next day and you will regret it, but it is obvious.
When I got home, I thought about the food I ate there, so I decided to enjoy it.
If you eat deliciously, you will gain weight and create memories!
I bought snacks, ramen, macaron ice cream and almost every drink in Japan.
The ramen tasted more like ramen than Korean-style ramen.
The one that looked like soybean paste ramen was the most delicious.
Even if you eat, you have to eat in moderation, but the one I bought at the time was so delicious that I ate it all in one sitting.
Still, I ate well!
It was also the first time I knew that Pocari Sweat was a Japanese product.
It was a drink I saw a lot in Korea, so I thought it was a domestic product.
I saw it a lot in Japan, so I looked it up, and it turned out to be a Japanese product!
Finally, I took a refreshing bath in the public bath I saw when I first entered the dormitory and went to sleep early because I was tired.
The first day, when I did nothing in particular, was very good, but I'm looking forward to the next calendar!
So, let's end the first day of our trip to Japan here.
I'll be back to posting on the second day.
