Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - Up to Eleven
Hey there, fellow splinterland friends! It's great to see you all and read your awesome posts, I hope you're doing well and feeling awesome!
A new week and this time the secret mage battle is given the Up to eleven ruleset which could be interpreted as an ability to amplify each cards ability, What this ruleset does is it amplifies every card used in the battle there by increasing there various abilities such as Thorns ,return fire and magic reflect, took almost a 100 games to get the ruleset to cause it's really rare to come by but anyways I did and here is details on how the battle went on for me.
GAMEPLAY
In my game, the mana cap was set at 26. I was really hoping my opponent wouldn't even pay attention to the ruleset, and the mana cap would limit my ability to fully utilize its power. Normally, I would go for the Thadius Brood summoner because of Cursed Windeku's thorn ability. But for this particular game, I decided to go with Tarsa as my summoner. She has that extra life and boosts the melee stat, which I thought could come in handy.
So, let's talk about my lineup. I made a bit of a mistake by putting Living Lava in my first position. In hindsight, I should have gone with the Thadius Brood summoner, but hey, we're already in the midst of the battle, right? As a backup, I had the Antoid Platoon to add a little bit of defense. And my main attacking force consisted of the Serpentine Spy and Tenyin Striker. To keep my team going strong, I also included a healer, Scavo Hireling.
As soon as the game began and the cards were revealed I knew I had already lost cause I went in recklessly and my opponent went in well prepared to maximise the amplify ruleset, in his first position was Theracous grunt with a good dodge ability and Katrebla Gibson with the bloodlust ability, the round 1 went on fairly quickly and I was already loosing
I lost serpentine spy and scarvo hireling in the first round and lost Tenyin striker in the second round meanwhile my opponent was till very much in charge with not even a single card lost to the battle .
At the end of round 4 I was able to get down just Theracous grunt but he still very much had the upper hand Gobson with the bloodlust made the battle very much over with her bloodlust ability
HERE is a link to the battle.
REVIEW
At the end of round 4 the game was over and I had lost for taken the ruleset for granted, I would say my strategy was what most let me down, I was very much aware of the ruleset and then I still went ahead to play a basic strategy that would work properly if there was no this rule, amd to be honest evem if we were not using the amplify rule set this guy would have still whopped me cause he had awesome cards i only dream of getting
Conclusion
Thankfully rebellion General sale is just around the corner (in 2 days)and I can finally level the playing field and play with everyone else as a equal, I am missing out on a lot of crucial cards that's why I can't wait for the Rebellion to start. Thank you guys and see you soon
