Market Friday and a HAPPY Birthday Surprise!
This is my participation in the #MarketFriday challenge by @dswigle. A big thanks because if it wasn't for her, this amazing challenge wouldn't exist. π
Let's enjoy life everyday, even if it feels hard sometimes. As time is unstoppable, we get older before we even know it. Since February 28th (29th) was my sisters' birthday! Which means for me, another good post for HIVE.
My little sisters' birthday is actually Feb 29th (yes a leap year) which means her birthday is every 4 years since there isn't a 29th every year like this one. So, we celebrated it on the 28th. Gregorian calendar speaking hehe. π
In that case, my mom and I got up early in the morning to go shopping. Hoping to find something my sister might enjoy.
At first, we passed by things for babies and newborns as we were looking for things for an 11 year old. If you did the math of her every Feb 29th birthday, she'd only be 3 years old. I was sure she would like something other than plushies and rattles though. π€£π€£
When we search though a lot of colors and options, sometimes it's hard to make a decision. Colors and options bring life though and it is enjoyable.
We bought some vegetables for cooking meals and headed to the bakery.
While we were there, we looked through the cakes choosing which one she might like. She really wanted a chocolate cake, so we bought the one in the middle. It was a little more expensive than the others, but sometimes you just got to take what makes you happy. π
When we came home, my sister was very joyful and she liked the cake very much. It was moist, creamy and delicious.
Make a wish!
Thank you for you for viewing my post, I hope you enjoyed it and enjoy the rest of your day! π

That's a cute story. I am sure you all had a great day.
Happy Birthday to your sister. Is she 11 that day? I hope you got the gift you were looking for. Did your sister go with you?
The cake looks wonderful and I hope she liked it! Make a wish!!
#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world. Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

My little sister read your reply and she says "thank you for the birthday compliments!" :)
She turned 11 and really enjoyed her birthday. She didn't come with us because we wanted it to be a surprise. When we came home, we asked her to stay in the bathroom while we lit the candles on the cake lol.
Yeah, let us Friday Freaks unite! π Hey, "Friday Freaks".. that doesn't sound too bad actually. π
I was happy to join Market Friday. Thanks to you, otherwise none of this awesomeness would have happened. :)
Upvotes appreciated, I can share so much more! I wish you a nice day @dswigle. :)
Even though upvotes are appreciated, one should never ask for an upvote It is frowned upon.
I didn't upvote you yet because I was waiting for my voting power to regenerate a little. I had been voting all morning and it gets smaller and smaller each time you vote.
Oh, sorry about that. It won't happen again, I sincerely apologize.
I do the same thing actually, I upvote people, but I can't upvote everyone either because my HP goes down. It feels good when people Like and appreciate what we write too though, kind of like an ego boost and motivator to contribute even more :)
I upvote everyone, I just have to save some to get better voting power. As I upvote 100% for the most part, I like it to be as large as I can make it. So, I hold off for a few hours in the meantime.
I am careful not to run out of power. That is why I slowly roll the votes. :)
