Keeping my Eye on the Prize

Hi Hiveians! Today I'd like to show my new artwork, I find it quite strange, but yet beautiful! In this post, I would like to show you how it was made!

Yes it is weird, but sometimes I love to just take a little dive into that and it could come out as something nice! 😀

I used normal pencils and colored pencils to draw this. I also used reference from my own eye (with reference from other peoples' eyes I found online) so it is kind of a mashup making my own creation.

✨ Process ✨

First, I drew the outline of the eye (including the tear duct, etc) if you can see my pencil outline around the colorful iris. 😄😅

For the iris I mixed multiple colors like green, yellow and purple nearer to the black pupil. (Dang, I'm learning I lot of new eye-anatomy words today!) 😀 Of course including the shading and highlights around the whole drawing!

Then the skin! I learned recently, that coloring the skin tones with one color doesn't make it as realistic, since it has so many other colors in it besides just beige, I added yellow tones, green, red, pink, peach and even purple!

Last but not least, the eyelashes and we're done!
