Adventures In Homesteading (Day 180)
Hello Everyone!
Feeling lackluster, The coming freezing weather, Survival or not, A grocery delivery, Cheap eggnog & I have yet to bottle the rainwater!
Alright, I am running nearly half an hour behind schedule with my writing routine this evening... and feeling pretty lackluster about it all to boot. In general I am no fan of the holidays... and this one in particular is weighing on me a lot this year... given that I am in hostile territory surrounded by bad neighbors.
The weather about to take a dive for the worse is not helping my overall morale either... but it will at least be above freezing tonight and tomorrow evening. After that things are going to get dodgy as hell... because it is looking like it will be staying in the low twenties (Fahrenheit) at night for many weeks to come.
Am I truly ready for such brutal weather conditions would be the question to ask... and all I can say is... we will find out soon enough! Honestly, my morale is at such an all time low that getting into a life or death scenario might do me some good... but hey we will find that out soon enough as well.
Anyways, the day was another nonproductive one filled with doing the tedious work that I do with relief efforts for folks inside the WNC DZ. The only truly good thing that happened was that yesterday someone sent me a small donation... and I was able to use half of it to get some groceries delivered... and even get some cheap eggnog which is my usual tradition this time of year.
On a different note, I probably should have spent some time today getting all my rainwater bottled up... from where it is at in the fifty gallon drum... but alas I just was not feeling up for it. Tomorrow will be my last day to do that before the freeze... so one way or another I am going to have to make it happen.
Well, that is all for now. I hope that everyone is doing well.
