MY SAFE PLACE:LOH contest 194

Safety is a priority in every one life this includes both the birds of the air, fishes in the seas and even us humans. This also includes us running for safety whenever we come across accidents/danger.

Did you also notice that no one wants to die?!!.
Yes absolutely, no one wants to leave the world even when there are lots of complaints. No one wants to be separated from their loved ones. This also defines safety.
Most times I wonder if there is a place so safe??,but oops!! there is no safe place, it's a feeling that comes from within. We have the feeling of safety because it's something we can't see but only feel.
There is no better way to set ourselves up for disappointment than to expect something outside of ourselves to keep us safe. It's our thoughts, actions, decisions and feelings that gives us a sense of safety.

Most of the time we tend to believe that we have failed and need someone to talk to, to express ourselves. But when no one is there to listen, suddenly that confidence will be washed away. Yes it's what has happened 😔, I experienced this. That's why I decided to make my mind my safe place. For me my only safe place was my mind, it gave me a sense of belonging reminding me that I am the architect of my own wellbeing. It helped me realize that testing, practice and learning from errors must become a part of me. In this situation psychological stability was my only priority not until I got to Know that we have to associate with people to be able to be more safe. I never had any psychological stability but Trust issues.

       At this point I began to ask myself, What should I do? How do I recover? How do I rebuild trust within myself and others?.

As I started to understand this concept of safety. I realized my safe place was my mom. Because she was always there to listen.
-she helped me normalize my errors.
-she opened up to communicate with me.
-she helped me make plans to repair the harm.
We all need someone to be our safe haven, speak up, associate, lay little trust on people cos no man is an island. Over the years the question of optimal safety has been intensively discussed.
But we must understand that everyone's safety is dependent of the individual. It's an individualized feeling of security.
