Welcome to my series of BTA!

(Better Than Adventure)

In the previous episode I showed you what this modpack is about and why I like it so far. You can check it out here if you haven't already.

Now there's a lot of photos that I've taken and I'm wondering if you guys like it this way. Please tell me down in the comments. I will mix up text & photos and just photos at certain points to switch it up.

Episode #02 - Tales from Beta

I gotta admit, the title for this post came to me at random, but I think it fits the direction of this post and the stuff I did perfectly. Even though I'm not good at telling "tales", I will try my best to make a good lil' story for you. 🙂

As I've said in the previous episode, Alpha and Beta were simpler times and there weren't many blocks or stuff to do. This simplicity is what pushed people to be more creative and make great things.

I was wondering for some time how to get seeds so I can start a farm. It turns out that in this modpack you need to use a hoe on grass to get them now instead of just punching it like in vanilla b1.7.3... Even though it's not much I think that's a good addition and it creates a sense of progression.

Also I made another chest so I can store more items and then decided to go into the mine a bit to collect some resources since I haven't done a proper mining sessions since I've started this series.

I found some other new additions such as this mossy cobblestone. Now you can get it from random generated chunks in the underground. It's not exactly like the vanilla version, but who doesn't love more building blocks ;)

The ores I collect I will show at the end of these mining sessions. Mainly I found coal and iron which is not bad at all. Since this version is based on beta 1.7.3 you dont have enchantments and fortune, so ores are more precious here.

Another cool building block is Limestone. I don't know if this completely replaces diorite from vanilla or if there is even diorite, but looks like an alternative to it.

A wide shot I took of the two path leading down to the mine. FOV 120

Here are all the resources I got from the mining session. Not bad at all.

I went to check on my crops and collect if anything is needed. I also took another shot from above.

I really like the pictures in this mode and I constantly take them, but I will limit them, because I don't want to be too repetitive. Here's one how it looks at the beginning now:

This is the spawn area where I spawned and I believe every player should spawn here. I've been wondering what to build for some time now.. 🤔

Here are some more pictures without context in chronological order of course :)

Since this looks like a bay area to me I've decided that the best thing to build is pier for boats! 😁 Actually I've upgraded it a lot more but the screens I took are on the other computer I use... I'll show it to you later.

Also removed some of the sand that was connecting the island area with the hut and placed a bridge there. Still a bit rough, but I will put finishing touches later on.

SNOW TIME!

As you can see, I went down for another mining session and got pretty good finds. It was my first diamond, and only one one, but it's still something.

The redstone will help me to make a clock and compass so I can see the direction, coordinates and time of day. This is a pretty neat addition and it displays in the top left corner of the screen.

Having this, now I can go on big adventures and discover more things without getting lost. Also we can later utilize the nether to cover great distances more easily.

Another project I've started working on is this tower. It will be very high and you will be able to watch over the whole horizon. It's kinda a tradition for me to do these in every instance of minecraft I've played. I'll show you the final result when it's fully finished. :)

A cool project that I will make is a quarry. It will utilize minecarts and I will add some decorative stuff to make it look cool as well. Not so much functionality but I think it will turn out cool.

Made a little bunker on the side of the quarry wall so I can dump items, sleep and cook & craft if needed.

Look at them, black and white. So cute ;)

This is it for now friends, I hope you enjoy this series as much as I do. I am thinking this series will be once a week, most likely every Monday. And I'd want to make a video on another series thru the week, probably Wed-Thursday-ish, but this will come a bit furher down the road... 🙏

Thank you so much for passing by and I wish you an amazing day!
