Winter Wonderland Sledding in Les Contamines-Montjoie
Hi, Worldmappin friends! Let's go to the French Alps, it's winter for real for the #winterchallenge. Hahaha!
Yes, finally, sharing with you an entry with SNOW.
As someone who is from the Philippines, seeing snow was one of my ultimate dreams. I've shared before in another article that it was my first time experiencing snow in France after a year I gave birth to my first child. Doing winter activities, especially winter skiing was a sport I really wanted to try someday and it happened.
This was our second trip to the French Alps for our winter ski holiday. We went in March 2023 during the low season, when there was still a little snow. It was so cold that I had dry lips. LOL
Here's our First Ski Holiday Experience.
We went to the ski rental company when we arrived at our accommodation. Our kids got their skis, too.
Our son was able to ski in 2022 as a beginner on a kiddy slope while our daughter was still a breastfeeding baby. But our son was more eager to learn than our daughter. But we let her get her own ski in order not to feel getting out of place. Turned out she never skied later on. Hehe.
We still had time so we went to the forest of Les Contamines-Montjoie. My husband bought the sled from Decathlon.
Our first activity upon arrival was sledding in the snow. Yahoo! The baby girl wanted to get out of the sled.
My daughter enjoyed walking in the snow. She just wanted to escape and walk alone on her own.
This is the Church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge. Happy to see people around with their proper gear to walk in the snow.
We don't have the correct shoes to walk in the snow. This is the river. I wanted to walk more and take many photos but I had to look after the kids. We need to be extra careful.
Other activities you can do here in Les Contamines-Montjoie are horse sleigh rides and farm visits. We were just happy to see a horse with a sleigh.
It is better to do this activity early in the morning. I think we were late to do it but the horse took a rest after his duty. Hahaha!
The kids were amazed to see this so they were in a hurry to sit on the sleigh and have their photos taken. As a mom, I was way more excited. LOL.
Of course, in the Philippines, we don't have snow. I was the one who was more excited to see snow.
Who's having more fun on the sled? The mama or the kids?
That's the big question we need to know. Hahaha! Look at the video above for you to find out.
To answer the question, yeah, it was me who enjoyed more of the snow sledding activity. It was also my first time to do the snow sled so I felt like a kid doing it. Hahaha!
I am just happy that I can experience snow with my whole family.
Well, I hope you enjoyed today's blog as much as I did.
The kids and I kept on repeating the video as we couldn't help but laugh.
