Locronan Illuminations and Christmas Market 2023 in France
Hi, Hive friends! Here is my entry for the #winterchallenge before life gets busy preparing for the New Year 2025. In December 2023, we went to Locronan for the Christmas illuminations and Market.
I was watching TV and looking for a Christmas Market in the countryside when a Christmas illumination was featured. I told my husband about Locronan, which is just one hour and 30 minutes away by car.
It was our second time visiting Locronan for the Christmas market. Fortunately, it wasn't raining, unlike our first visit. The kids were happy and free to walk around so I got the chance to take many photos and videos.
The shop had beautiful displays of stuffed toys.
The Saint-Ronan church was nicely illuminated.
My kids were so in a hurry while I enjoyed the illuminations. I stopped for a minute but my daughter started to cry.
I told her to calm down and enjoy the illuminations.
Inside the church, we saw this nativity scene. I had many photos to share in other posts.
The details inside Saint-Ronan church
We got the chance to enter the church. Wow, I am so amazed at all the details and architecture.
Modern churches in the Philippines have no more pulpits but a few of the oldest churches in Cebu have pulpits. Whenever I see pulpits here in France or Spain, I am always fascinated to look at them. I was also curious to go up.
I think the Pulpit is my favorite subject to take photos of.
I love all the designs.
I love the altar.
I retook many photos.
I love visiting old churches in France. I love the tranquility. I was glad there were not so many people when we got inside the church.
The festive mode outside
We got out of the church and this is what we could see.
We heard the music playing. But we saw a crepe vendor, we wanted to drink hot chocolate and eat some crepes with chocolate.
It was such a good feeling that everyone was so joyful, there was no rain.
We loved this Christmas tree with big light bulbs. My son had his photos taken here.
Here was the Ferris Wheel, it was nice to see it but we never got to ride it.
The Christmas market
Handmade customized pieces of jewelry, I would love to buy one but I forgot I don't have money. LOL
For my eyes only, I didn't get near the displays because I didn't want them to expect that I would buy.
Oh sweets! It was so tempting I would love to buy one.
Good thing that I don't have money or I would buy everything.
I would love to have a Dreamcatcher as well.
I love the illuminations outside of the church.
We just continued to walk just to see what was going on.
Chessboard games and other board games made of wood.
Meeting Santa Claus
I got excited when Santa Claus was around. My daughter got scared even though my husband took her with him.
My son never cared too much about Santa Claus. But my inner child believes in Santa Claus. Hahaha!
La Maison du Poète
OMG, I was happy to see this shop. For poets, writers, and people who love to journal, this place is for us. To be honest, I really wanted to stay here for more than an hour. Hahaha!
Well, the shop warned us not to take any photos. It was prohibited so I just followed the rules. The shop reminds me of a Harry Potter movie scene when students went into a bookshop to purchase books in Diagon Alley.
La Maison du Poète was like a magical place for me in just a few minutes. I would love to buy the notebooks, the plumes, the calligraphic pens and inks. You name it.
This is not my video but the owner of the shop shared on YouTube what was inside the store 11 years ago.
Because of this visit, I bought a cheap notebook and started to journal.
That's all for today's blog. Happy to join the #winterchallenge. Happy New Year everybody!
