Manhattan of "The Big Apple" 1 | 纽约曼哈顿 1

After showing you the cityscape of Benidorm, nicknamed "Manhattan of Spain", I'm now sharing some old visual memories of the original Manhattan, the famous borough of "The Big Apple" New York City.

Numerous iconic skyscrapers dominate New York City's skyline. Similarly to my previous post about the architecture in Benidorm, my images in this post will focus on towering buildings in NYC, such as the One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower), Chrysler Building, 8 Spruce Street by Frank Gehry, and those dazzling ones in Times Square.

These structures not only represent the city's economic prowess, but also architectural ingenuity and engineering marvel. The notable sleek and geometric shapes may be seen in Art Deco structures from the 1920s and 1930s, as well as the so-called International Style and later Deconstructivist ones.

The city also has a wide range of designated historic landmarks, such as the Flatiron Building and St Patrick's Cathedral included in my photos here. These architectural wonders have been protected thanks to preservation initiatives.

Besides, some of the city's most well-known architecture can be found in its museums and cultural institutions. The prominent Guggenheim Museum in my head image, for example, was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and it stands out for its spiral-shaped structure.

曼哈顿岛是“大苹果”纽约市的一个区，可能也是大部分人听到纽约会最先想到的地方，另外一个岛区是斯塔顿，而布鲁克林和皇后区在长岛上，只有北边的布朗克斯区位在大陆上。

这里分享的老照片拍自近十年前，主要是些著名的高楼大厦，比如世贸中心一号楼(自由塔)、克莱斯勒大厦和弗兰克·盖里设计的云杉街8号楼。其中，最吸引我注意的是二三十年代的装饰艺术风格建筑和后来的所谓解构主义建筑，都展现出独特的几何形态。

还有一些指定的历史地标，像特色鲜明的熨斗大厦和保存完好的圣帕特里克大教堂。

此外，也附上几张博物馆和文化机构的照片。由弗兰克·劳埃德·赖特设计的所罗门·R·古根海姆美术馆以螺旋形的结构脱颖而出，大老远就让我们行人注意到它的存在。
