My Celebrity Crush

I was just like every other regular Korean college girl. I went to school every morning in joggers and hoodies and I was a huge fan of BTS. There was a time I even had a crush on RM. I would watch all his performances outside the country and buy tickets for the ones I could attend.

I had his stickers on my room and used his photo on my phone screen. My results at school were average and so was my life, pretty much.

After school, I had a part-time evening job at a local diner and often got a free meal alongside my paycheck. My parents were not rich but they were not poor either.

At least, I lived in a decent apartment and had decent clothes to wear. My best friend totally hated anything related to BTS.

She felt there were more handsome guys in Korea and they were just overrated singers who happened to collide with faces that could take your breath away.

They were good-looking, I agree with her but overrated? - no way. I loved their music so much.

I always drove to school in my car. It was a gift from my parents when I got into college and it had been my means of transportation since then.

On my way, I noticed the road was unusually clear, and getting to school everywhere was jam-packed with people. It turned out that someone had spotted Kim in the BTS and had alerted everyone.

Although I was excited, I did not believe that Kim would suddenly make an appearance in my college. It was ridiculous and the thought made me laugh.

For a brief moment, I forgot I was driving and almost hit a man. I quickly stepped on the brakes and he rushed to the car door, opened it, and got in.

"Drive," he said urgently in English.

I scoffed lightly. Does he think he just got into public transport? I turned to give him a piece of my mind when I saw his face.

Oh my God!

I couldn't breathe!

"Ki.....Kim," I asked unsure.

He gave an awkward smile.

"Can you please, drive me to somewhere quiet," he repeated.

"Of course," I said.

I rolled my windows up and reversed before driving off.

I couldn't believe my eyes and my heart was pounding.

I mentally checked what I was wearing.

Hair, check.......

I praised myself for taking the time to look good today.

I drove as fast as I could and went straight to my house.

I ushered him in and shut the door.

"Sorry for bringing you here. I just felt that if I took you to any of the local hotels, they might alert the press for publicity's sake," I said sincerely.

It was then I noticed the beautiful fragrance that has been blessing my nose.

"You smell great," I complimented.

"Thanks for the compliment and for helping me earlier," he said.

"You can sit there and watch tv if you want to or you can use my laptop," I said.

And that was how the most exciting day of my life began. We sat down and saw some movies, played cards, and even sang some of their songs together.

I was totally thrilled and he was as well. Later, it was shown in the news that he had made an appearance but it was dismissed as false.

He decided to buy a ticket and leave in the night when no one would recognize him. Soon, it was time for me to resume duties at work. I wanted to make an excuse but he insisted on coming to the diners to check out the meals.

Since it was evening and only elderly people visited the diner, it was very convenient. He tried our dumplings and famous sweet and sour pork with some soy milk and even had some noodles.

Well, I wasn't seeing things.

He also bought a generous amount of things for me. I thought he'd have the airs of a celebrity, but I was wrong. It made me crush even harder. Just a plain crush though.

When it was time for him to go to the airport, I got him a nose mask to cover his face and drove him there. Then, he requested to have a selfie with me and even gave me a front-row ticket to his concert in Seoul.

I politely declined because of the cost of transportation but he also took care of that and got me a flight ticket as well.

I was ecstatic.

That was the best day of my life. You could see the admiration in the eyes of my friends when I showed them the selfie and concert ticket.

During the concert, he gave me a shout-out for my help and sent me flowers.

To date, those flowers are being preserved. I hope to have such a fun day again, soon.
