Hello.

I only rely on my feet to walk when I am in Penang. Interestingly, there are so many stories in this city. It is really captivating because there are so many old buildings that are story spots. This city really relies on its wealth in the past, when it was glorious on earth. Indeed, as we know about the history of the city of Penang which is one of the cities of civilization that has carved a lot of history.

This city is located on one of the islands separated from the mainland, Malaysia. As a city that turns out to have a lot of residents with ethnic Chinese from ancient times, this city has a temple that has been functioning since ancient times, since 1887. Goddess Of Mercy Temple.

This temple has so many visitors, not only those who want to pray, but also tourists who are curious about how this temple is still standing. Of course, it does not interfere with the worshipers to pray at the temple. It is said that almost every day there are visitors who want to see this temple as one of the tourist destinations.

Goddess Of Mercy Temple is not far from the city center, because the city of Penang is small so it is easy to access anywhere. But still, this temple is indeed very easy to access from anywhere. Talking about this temple, there is a lot of history and unique artistic value from this old temple.

The central belief in the Goodess Of Mercy Temple is the Goddess Kwan Im and Macho Po. There are many who pray and perform various rituals. I tried to go in and take some detailed photos related to this temple. Really, I never thought that this temple would have an extraordinary area. However, if you look at it from the front, it looks like a small house that can only fit a few people. However, it seems that dozens of people can enter to pray.

Outside the temple, there are many people, selling prayer equipment and also residents waiting to get food. There are many people who give alms at meal times such as 12 and 4 pm. Not only humans, there are many pigeons that perch, but it is forbidden to feed pigeons in front of the temple yard, because it will disturb and dirty the front yard of the temple.

The details of the interior of the room are very typical of Chinese culture, accompanied by the bright red color of course. It can be said that the color red is indeed a sign of glory and the color of luck. I will also show you other details from some of the photos below.

I don't knowing about this temple so much, but I feel like I am in a place that if it's not a temple then it's like a rich house in the Ming or Yu Dynasty. It's so impressive that this place has been around for 137 years. There is not a single building that is damage at all, even though thousands of people have visited this place. Can you imagine that this place is much older than us?

So one can find Chinese culture even in Malaysia. That's interesting. Even the words are in Chinese. I am loving the environment. 🫂

It is interesting to remember that Malaysia does have a multi-ethnic population.
