In general, bandrek is a warm drink made from a mixture of various spices such as ginger, lemongrass, cinnamon, and also various other spices. Apart from being delicious, bandrek is also considered a herbal drink that have many benefits.

Bandrek Sorbat
I have one of my favorite bandrek outlets located not far from my house, namely Bandrek Sorbat. It only takes three minutes by motorbike to come to this place. Bandres Sorbat is also one of the Legendary Bandrek Outlets in Medan City. Apart from having several branch outlets, Bandrek Sorbat has also opened its business since 1986.

Bandrek Sorbat is only open from 7 pm until it runs out. When I came, it was still quiet and I was the first customer. Usually, the busiest visitors come here around 9-11 pm. Bandrek outlets like this are also often used by men as a place to gather or chat with friends. Occasionally, I also see grown men who come alone to drink bandrek and contemplate before going home.

There is only one menu at Bandrek Sorbat, but we can order several variants, such as adding sweetened condensed milk or honey. I ordered one bandrek with additional sweetened condensed milk, and one glass of bandrek was delivered directly to my table.

In fact, the best properties of bandrek are when you drink it without additional sweeteners such as sweetened condensed milk or honey. My wife always orders the original bandrek because she wants to get the benefits. However, for me, the taste of this original bandrek really stings my tongue and throat, so I'd rather enjoy a slightly sweeter taste.

The first five minutes is the most difficult time to drink this bandrek. Because, bandrek is very hot. It would be better, if we wait a while and let the temperature drop. Because, if forced to drink our lips will be burned because of the heat. There is a way to lower the temperature of this drink, namely by pouring it into a small plate and then sipping slowly.

There is one thing that seems to have become my obligation when drinking bandrek here. I always enjoy this hot bandrek with this homemade white bread from Bandrek Sorbat. The way to enjoy it is also very simple, we cut a little bread and then dip it into the hot bandrek and then we eat. Believe me, the taste and sensation are very tasty. The moment of eating bread with bandrek like this is my favorite moment. I always enjoy every piece of bread.

After almost 30 minutes of being here. The effects of this traditional drink have been felt in my body. My whole body feels warm and I feel like burping and passing gas more often. I feel my body is getting better, and one more thing I am getting sleepy. Finally, after finishing a glass of bandrek and I went home to sleep.
