Hello everyone, Welcome
When I traveled to Bandung, I stayed at one of the hotels owned by the local government which is quite a dream for history lovers. Even though it's a little pricey, this hotel feels like it's worth trying. Remembering that in 1955, when there was an Asia Africa conference in Indonesia, specifically in the city of Bandung, this hotel was used as a hotel for delegates from various countries to stay. That's what made me interested in spending money to stay here.

This hotel is one of the hotels which is an asset belonging to the West Java regional government, is very well managed and maintained as one of the hotels that is the pride of West Java. There are many stories about this hotel, where a small space was deliberately left in a corner of this hotel which was used as a museum and tells all the history of the Grand Preanger hotel.

We start with a photo that explains about this hotel. Starting from 1897, this hotel was built by a Dutch national who eventually founded this hotel under the name Hotel Thiem. Lasting for 30 years, finally this hotel changed its name to Grand Hotel Preanger. In 1929, it was renovated by an architect, uniquely, this architect was assisted by a student in renovating this hotel, he was the first president of Indonesia.

From the Indische Empire building style, the hotel building was transformed into art deco which is still maintained and has become a landmark of the city of Bandung to this day. So, there is no reason not to try this hotel when you are in Bandung city, especially since this is your first time.

Well, in this museum, there are lots of authentic relics from when this hotel was first built. Everything is neatly arranged in one museum which is very entertaining and quite cool, so it's not wrong to stop for a while at the museum while learning a little about the history of this hotel.

There are several antique items here, such as a projector for showing videos from the past, it looks very old but looks sturdy and very clean, even though this equipment is no longer functioning properly, it is used as an antique display that will reflect the past when the hotel first started. this was established. You can feel the old money vibes when you are inside this hotel building.

They also display several authentic photos from when this hotel first existed until now. showing off the buildings which were very luxurious at that time, then reminds us of photos with black and white backgrounds. The deep and historical impression is a silent witness to this luxury hotel, presenting a very authentic feel and that is the great strength of this hotel.

They also pride themselves on the fact that there are so many important people who have stayed at this hotel. Historically, all of the delegates from various countries at the Asia-Africa Conference in 1955 stayed here. There are even several important artists and figures, such as Amelia Earhart and Carlie Chapline.

Even though it is only a hotel, this is a historic place for the Indonesian people, where this place is a witness to the Asia-Africa conference which is part of Indonesia's history, including the city of Bandung. So, in my opinion, this is a place that is most worth experiencing the sensation of going on holiday to enjoy the vibes of old money and reminisce about the past.
