Mahsa Amini, a woman like you or me, was brutally beaten just because a little bit of her hair was showing and maybe it came loose from under her Hijab.

Of the most deeply rooted customs or beliefs of a population, the male chauvinist remains the first and the one that has cost the most to eradicate from a country. As long as the social policies of a country continue to support this type of law in its constitution, we will not be able to get out of the mistreatment of women.

While in many countries it has been possible to break with this type of customs, the Middle East continues to be one of those that gives much to talk about, even in the 21st century where the world has progressed in innovations and modernity abounds every day.

Women continue to be mistreated until death for what is considered a simple act on her part or an oversight.

My opinion on this type of news is impotence and anger at what happens to a genre that is the one that brings the children of these abusive men into the world, the one that watches over the family and the home, the one that is a slave to her house so that her husband lives peacefully at ease, the one that is supposed to be the man's rib to be his faithful companion and not the rag with which he cleans the floor.

I don't understand if they are so religious they don't take into account the verses of Genesis where God gives a man a wife to help him, so that he doesn't live alone. It seems that this part of the bible is not in your books, everything is at your convenience.

My biological father is Lebanese, so I have Arab ancestry. But I thank God very much for not having been born in a nation where its laws are wrong and where women do not have any kind of consideration.

As a human being, I would have the right to meet my Arab family, but I would only do it to visit the country and learn a little about how people live there, although I know that there are many risks even as a visitor.

How can we help ?

Everything that is done in favor of eradicating this type of action is not enough, but it does help. Although it is believed that protests are not taken into account, there is always someone who pays attention to them. You have to start with something and this is a good option.

Would you run away?

Of course, if I were to flee, I would do everything possible to leave the country not only to protect my integrity but also the integrity of my children, if any. I would not like to give that same treatment to one of my daughters, I would not be able to bear it.

Many times we do not seek help because the same environment in which you live you find people who tell you that this is normal, but it is not. Family members often help, but at certain times they make you see that you have to put up with it because that's the custom. I would tell you to find out and find out if there are organizations that can help you.

Look for information, research about organizations

Information is power !!

There are non-profit organizations that can help you if you find yourself in a dangerous situation. You should know where they are located and how they can help you. Surely you can save your life by this means. Acnur is a non-profit organization that works on human rights, it could be your lifeline.

https://news.un.org/es/story/2020/11/1484692

The United Nations is another non-profit organization that helps in human rights and women and gender violence, they have offices all over the world.

Just like you are, there are others that work together with these large organizations at the national level in your country. You just have to investigate one nearby that can give you the help you need.

I really hope that this information or call reaches the hands of many women who see this community worldwide so that they seek help if they need it. I invite my friends @humbe. @evegrase and @meyateingi ngi to answer questions from our colleague and friend @thekittygirl.

Invito a mis amigas @humbe.

Thank You for the invite @isabelpena, hopefully, I will gather the courage too to write something in memory of Mahsa 🌺.

My biological father is Lebanese, so I have Arab ancestry. But I thank God very much for not having been born in a nation where its laws are wrong and where women do not have any kind of consideration.

It must be really hard being born in nations like this where women are oppressed and having a girl child could be worrying as a mother realizing how much trauma could be waiting for her in the street. You are fortunate not to be born and raised in your paternal country.

Many times we do not seek help because in the same environment in which we live we find people who tell us that this is normal, but it is not. Family members often help, but at certain times they make you see that you have to put up with it because that's the custom. I would tell you to find out and find out if there are organizations that can help you.

Indeed it is a painful reality that people expect one to normalize the custom just because someone thinks they have the right to detect how a woman should behave. What is more upsetting is all these customs mainly focus on women and males are raised in that toxic environment to also see women as someone whose morals need to be monitored and dictated to. That's why even some family members would expect women to put up with all this treatment.

Thanks for bringing awareness and sharing a list of organisations like the UN that are available worldwide to help with human rights, and Gender-based violence.

Indeed we can't just pretend it is just another day, another Iranian and look away. We must stand together and not give in to this treatment. It's comforting that women are already protesting and sharing their voices.

I feel sorry for you . I have seen Muslim women herein my country but they are never mistreated that way. Some even had become doctors and they are very good at what they do. I hope every woman in you blood will be treated equally as men

Thank you friend for your concern, I am very well. In this part of the world there is machismo but it is a small part. Around here you hear news of this type with Arab women, I don't know if they are entirely true, but it makes us very helpless that this happens. In Venezuela there is a large Arab community and that does not happen with them either, there they are free like any Venezuelan.

Imagining how helpless some women in places where their space to move seems to be very small and limited makes me sad and wonder why people make such laws that uplifts one gender but degrades another...

Thank you for sharing your feelings and views...

I was truly heartbroken when I first saw the news, in this 21st century where women are killing it, being real bosses. There are some women out there who can't speak for themselves, can't dress the way they want and gets killed if a little bit of hair is shown.

It is something very sad, we have to raise our voices to change all those laws. That is already obsolete, they must be modernized.

✊✊. Yes, they must be modernized. And we have to play our parts by speaking up and sticking for all women no matter where they're from

It's easy for us to feel helpless and don't know how to help those poor women. Those organizations you mentioned are the best place to seek help. On the individual level, I think the best way to help them is to create awareness through our writings, music, art etc. If a lot of people are talking about it, there will be a ripple effect at some point and change is not too far-fetched.

These small actions that we do by spreading the news are generating positive responses in this community. I believe that these protests are the best action that can be taken to achieve an end to violence against women, the whole world is seeing it even though they want to censor the news. I think that this time they will not be able to, unfortunately another woman had to die, but the aim is for them not to die anymore and for the laws to change because we are in the 21st century where those laws must be abolished.
On this platform there are many women who live in those countries where there are those laws against the freedom of women and in favor of mistreatment of them. I sincerely hope that what you see here will be of great help to you if you find yourself in a situation of violence.
The world is watching this news and is realizing that we cannot allow more deaths of women for the simple fact of having loosened a bit of hair from their veil or hijab.
